Job Summary: Scrapyard Crane Operator
The Crane Operator is a member of our Melt Department responsible for operating an overhead crane to facilitate movement of product and materials for scrapyard and melting operations. Wage starting at $22.20/hr. with .50 pr hr increases every 6 months until the established top rate of pay is achieved. Additional Paid Relief Days, $1,000 SIGN ON BONUS. (Paid in increments throughout the first year of continued employment), and this position is eligible for the Production Incentive Program.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Pre-operation inspection and testing of crane and associated equipment
  • Operation of overhead (cab) crane
  • Communication with operators and employees on floor
  • Timely reporting of equipment problems and issues
  • Maintaining all equipment and documentation needed for crane operation
  • Perform other department duties, as assigned
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
  • Must be comfortable working at heights
  • Must be capable of standing for long periods of time
  • Exposed to seasonal temperature changes
  • Manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and vibration
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience with heavy equipment or crane operation required
  • Previous overhead crane experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to work any shift, including some weekends
