Role Overview

As a Script Writer at Unity Films, you’ll be responsible for writing, editing, and refining scripts for a variety of YouTube video formats — from narrative-driven videos and documentaries to educational, lifestyle, and branded content. You’ll collaborate with producers, directors, and editors to bring ideas to life with strong storytelling, clear structure, and a consistent voice.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and revise scripts for YouTube videos across multiple genres and formats.
• Develop engaging storylines, hooks, and dialogue that capture and retain viewer attention.
• Collaborate with producers and the creative team to brainstorm ideas and shape narratives.
• Adapt creative briefs and concepts into compelling, watchable scripts.
• Ensure scripts align with Unity Films’ brand tone, pacing, and audience engagement goals.
• Incorporate feedback quickly and efficiently while maintaining storytelling quality.
• Conduct research when needed to ensure accuracy, credibility, and depth.

Requirements

• Proven experience writing scripts for YouTube videos or other online video platforms.
• Strong understanding of storytelling techniques that capture and retain audience attention.
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with a natural, conversational tone.
• Ability to write for different video styles and genres (documentary, narrative, educational, lifestyle, or branded content).
• Solid grasp of visual storytelling — knowing how scripts translate to on-screen visuals.
• Creativity in developing fresh ideas, concepts, and engaging storylines.
• Comfortable working from briefs, outlines, or creative direction from producers or directors.
• Strong attention to detail in structure, pacing, and formatting.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects remotely.
• Familiarity with YouTube trends, tone, and audience engagement strategies.

Preferred (Not Required):

• Experience writing for established YouTube channels or digital media brands.
• Understanding of SEO, keywords, and viewer retention strategies for YouTube.
• Familiarity with scriptwriting tools (Final Draft, Celtx, WriterDuet, or similar).
