Scrub Nurse – Full Time

Location: JASS Hospital, Kolathur, Chennai
Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹22,000 per month
Job Type: Full-Time (Day/Night Rotational or Fixed as per hospital need)

About the Role

JASS Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Scrub Nurse to support surgeons during operative procedures and ensure a safe, sterile, and efficient OT environment. The ideal candidate should have strong surgical assistance experience and excellent knowledge of aseptic techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons directly during operative procedures inside the OT.
• Prepare and arrange surgical instruments, supplies, sterile drapes, and equipment.
• Maintain strict sterile field and ensure aseptic practices throughout the procedure.
• Anticipate surgeon’s needs and provide instruments promptly and accurately.
• Count instruments, sponges, and materials before and after surgery.
• Handle specimens safely and ensure proper labeling.
• Coordinate with circulating nurses and OT technicians for smooth workflow.
• Assist in pre-operative OT setup and post-operative clean-up.
• Maintain detailed records of procedures and sterilization.

Qualifications & Skills

• B.Sc Nursing / GNM/ DGNM with valid Nursing Registration (TNMC)
• 1–5 years of experience as a Scrub Nurse or Operating Room Nurse preferred
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and OT protocols
• Excellent teamwork, focus, and quick response under pressure
• Good communication and patient-handling skills

Shift Details

• Day or Night Shift (based on hospital policy)
• Weekly off as applicable
