This is a remote position.
We are seeking a Scrum Master with practical Agile experience to support development teams delivering enterprise software capabilities for a United States Air Force program. The Scrum Master will work closely with up to three development teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies, maintaining delivery transparency, and helping teams operate effectively within an iterative development environment. The role emphasizes team facilitation, Agile coaching, and removal of impediments that affect delivery progress. The Scrum Master will also ensure Agile tools are kept current and that team progress and metrics are visible to program leadership.
- Organize and facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Work closely with Product Owners and program leadership to maintain a healthy and prioritized product backlog
- Guide development teams in applying Agile and Scrum practices in day‑to‑day development activities
- Track and communicate sprint progress, team velocity, and release milestones
- Identify, document, and remove impediments that may impact team productivity or sprint goals
- Coordinate with project leadership to escalate and resolve delivery risks or blockers
- Ensure Agile tooling (such as VersionOne or similar platforms) accurately reflects backlog status, sprint work, and metrics
- Promote continuous improvement through retrospective follow‑through and team feedback
- Support program‑level planning and coordination activities in multi‑team Agile environments
- Assist in gathering information regarding project capabilities, limitations, interfaces, and performance requirements
- Ability to facilitate productive discussions, planning sessions, and conflict resolution
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate with developers, product owners, and program leadership
- Ability to influence teams and encourage Agile adoption without formal authority
- Ability to identify risks or impediments early and proactively address them
- Strong organizational skills and attention to delivery timelines
- Experience working in structured delivery environments such as government or regulated programs
- Implementation of Agile and Scrum methodologies within software development teams
- Backlog management, story refinement, and sprint planning activities
- Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown charts, and release progress tracking
- Agile lifecycle tools such as VersionOne, Jira, or similar platforms
- Working in service‑oriented or enterprise application environments
- Scaled Agile delivery environments such as SAFe or other multi‑team coordination models
- 2-5 years experience working in an Agile delivery environment supporting technical teams
- Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and supporting software development teams
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
