Overview: Every Turnberry consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services Turnberry offers to clients. As a Scrum Master, you will join Turnberry's Business Agility practice. Turnberry's Business Agility practice provides ways-of-working assessments with supporting improvement recommendations, Product Management and Agile Delivery education opportunities, team and enterprise-level Product and Agile coaching, and strategic staffing for each of the skills required to drive Agile and/or Project to Product transformation journeys.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives) and ensure they deliver real value
  • Coach and mentor Development, QA Automation, and cross-functional teams on Agile practices, self-organization, and continuous improvement
  • Champion self-forming "tiger teams" enable small, empowered groups of experts to tackle critical challenges with autonomy and speed
  • Remove impediments and shield teams from distractions while collaborating effectively with Product Owners, Project Managers, and Program Managers
  • Work closely with technical teams to understand application architecture, functionality, dependencies, and challenges in microservices environments
  • Promote modern Agile engineering practices including shift-left testing, CI/CD integration, test automation, and data-driven retrospectives
  • Track and report on team velocity, burndown, risks, and delivery metrics while helping scale Agile practices across the organization
  • Foster strong collaboration between Development, QA, Product, and Stakeholder groups to ensure alignment and high-quality outcomes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in software development environments
  • Demonstrated success enabling self-organizing teams and delivering complex projects
  • Modern collaboration platforms (Jira, Git projects, Confluence, Linear, Miro)
  • AI-powered tools for planning, retrospectives, and workflow optimization
  • Hybrid/distributed team facilitation techniques
  • CI/CD visibility and DevOps practices
  • Data-driven decision making and metrics for team health
  • Passionate about quality software delivery, team empowerment, and continuous learning
  • Agile Expertise
    • Certified Scrum Master (CSM/PSM) or equivalent
    • Deep knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid Agile approaches
  • Hands-on Delivery
    • Proven ability to lead and organize teams delivering complex software projects
    • Experience working directly with microservices architecture is highly valued
  • Technical Appreciation
    • Strong interest in understanding software functionality, architecture (Java, functional languages, Node.js/Express, React, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), and quality practices
    • Prior development or QA background is a big plus
  • Team Leadership
    • Deep appreciation for self-organizing teams and the ability to build high-trust, high-performance environments
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Experience working across pillars of large software organizations -Development, QA, Product Ownership, and Project/Program Management
The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $90,000 or the hourly equivalent.
