Scrum Master III
with our large power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension.
Pay:
$67.00 - $77.00/hr
; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

4x10 schedule | Onsite 2 days per week
Description:
The Senior Scrum Master is responsible for leading Agile teams while navigating the complexity of larger initiatives and diverse stakeholder environments. This role works closely with other Scrum Masters, Product Owners, team members, vendors, and leadership to define, deploy, and continuously optimize Agile-based processes. The ideal candidate is pragmatic, adaptable, and experienced beyond a strictly “by-the-book” Scrum Master approach.
Key Capabilities (Most Important):

Ability to manage difficult and complex business relationships, navigating a wide range of stakeholder interactions.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and remain effective in large, complex initiatives.

Experience estimating projects and managing project budgets, including forecasting and resource planning.
-
Not a strict Scrum Master purist—comfortable adapting Agile practices to meet business needs.
-
Ideally has prior experience as a Project Manager, bringing a broader delivery and execution mindset.
Core Responsibilities:
With some supervision, the Senior Scrum Master will:

Ensure teams are fully functional, productive, and protected from unnecessary external disruption.
-
Provide servant leadership, modeling Agile values and behaviors.
-
Remove barriers and impediments preventing teams from delivering work.
-
Capture and analyze metrics to monitor team and project health (e.g., velocity, burn-down charts).
-
Mentor team members and promote Agile thinking while ensuring process adherence.

Facilitate Agile ceremonies and practices, including:
-
Facilitates estimation activities (story points, Planning Poker)

Maintains the backlog and physical Scrum (task) board in partnership with the Team and Product Owner

Ensures artifact quality
-
Captures and track impediments, risks and dependencies until resolution

Updates team's improvement backlog with commitments from the Retrospective

Completes and shares the teams Commitment report and End of Sprint Report based on the Demo and Product Owner acceptance
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or 5 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.

1-4 years of experience with project concepts and practices.

4-6 years of Scrum Master experience (including experience beyond academic or theoretical application).

Scrum Master certification (CSM).

Proficiency in multiple Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills; able to interact effectively at all organizational levels and deliver persuasive, informative presentations.

Experience managing M+ project budgets, including estimating future budgets and planning resources.

Demonstrated experience working with vendors and external partners.
