The SEO Manager is responsible for leading the agency’s SEO practice across a diverse client portfolio. This role combines strategic leadership, hands-on execution, team management, and direct client engagement. The ideal candidate can balance day-to-day optimizations with high-level strategy and oversee consistent delivery across multiple verticals such as e-commerce, professional services, hospitality, real estate, entertainment, and healthcare.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy & Planning

  • Develop comprehensive SEO strategies covering technical, on-page, off-page, and content SEO.
  • Create individualized SEO roadmaps tailored to each client’s goals, industry, and competitive landscape.
  • Conduct in-depth keyword research, market analysis, and growth forecasting.
  • Ensure SEO strategy integrates seamlessly with paid media, content, and overall marketing plans.

Execution & Optimization

  • Perform and oversee technical SEO audits, site structure reviews, and page-level optimizations.
  • Manage keyword targeting, metadata optimization, internal linking, schema implementation, and site performance improvements.
  • Lead content optimization efforts, including brief creation, outlining, and providing SEO-driven content recommendations.
  • Collaborate with developers on technical implementations and site improvements.
  • Oversee link-building initiatives, including digital PR and high-authority outreach.

Client Management

  • Serve as the primary SEO point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Present strategies, performance reports, and recommendations in client meetings.
  • Translate complex SEO concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistent communication and proactive performance reporting

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of SEO Specialists, Coordinators, and Analysts.
  • Establish quality standards for deliverables and review work before submitting it to clients and account managers.
  • Provide ongoing training, performance feedback, and skill development.
  • Assist with resource planning, workload balancing, and project prioritization.

Reporting & Insights

  • Build and maintain performance dashboards in Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Looker Studio, or other analytics tools.
  • Track KPIs such as rankings, organic traffic, conversions, engagement, and technical health.
  • Conduct quarterly and monthly strategic reviews to assess performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Use data and insights to refine strategies and drive continuous improvement.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Partner with paid media, creative, web dev, email, and content teams to deliver integrated strategies.
  • Participate in internal planning sessions for new client opportunities.
  • Work with account managers to support client retention and growth.

New Business Support

  • Provide expertise on potential SEO opportunities and roadmaps during the sales process.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical SEO Expertise

  • Advanced understanding of technical SEO (JavaScript SEO, Core Web Vitals, site architecture, redirects, crawlability).
  • Experience with React/Next.js SEO, CMS platforms, and complex site structures.

Tools & Platforms Expertise

  • Expertise with:
  • GA4, Google Search Console (GSC), Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Looker Studio.
  • Tag Manager, schema generators, and log file analysis tools.
  • CMS platforms such as WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, and Squarespace.

Leadership & Communication

  • Experience managing a small team (2–6 people).
  • Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced agency environment.

Analytical & Strategic Thinking

  • Strong data interpretation skills with the ability to turn insights into actionable strategies.
  • Proven track record of driving measurable organic growth across multiple verticals.

EXPERIENCE: Professional Experience

  • 4–7+ years in SEO roles, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or senior strategist capacity.
  • Agency experience strongly preferred due to client diversity and fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with local SEO and multi-location SEO strategies.
  • Familiarity with digital PR and link acquisition strategies.
  • Basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript knowledge for troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) or User Experience (UX) optimization principles.
  • Experience working on site migrations, redesigns, and platform transitions.

  • Organic traffic and keyword growth across client accounts.
  • Improved technical site health across managed properties.
  • Client retention and satisfaction scores.
  • Team output quality and efficiency.
  • Contribution to new business and cross-service growth.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
