</p><p><b>Job Summary:
</b></p><p>The CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Lathe Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC lathes to produce high quality parts according to blueprint specifications. This position requires a strong attention to detail, ability to read and interpret drawings, understanding of GD&amp;T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), with a commitment to Safety and Precision in a Manufacturing environment.
</p><p></p><p><b>Duties/Responsibilities:
</b></p><ul><li><p>Operate single turret CNC Lathe Machines with Live Tooling capabilities or operate single turret/dual turret, twin spindle CNC Lathe Machines with Live Tooling capabilities, attached with 6&rsquo; bar feeders or operate CNC Swiss Machines with Live Tooling capabilities with high volume quantities
</p></li><li><p>Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., Micrometers, Pin gages, bore gages, Thread gages, plug gages, Drop Indicators, Height gages, Comparators)
</p></li><li><p>As required, ability to manual deburr parts during the machining process
</p></li><li><p>Ability to make offsets to tooling under Fanuc controls
</p></li><li><p>Identify and resolve machining issues such as tool wear to maintain the customer required dimensions
</p></li><li><p>Accurately record production data, including quantities and quality inspections
</p></li><li><p>Follow all safety protocols and ensure the workspace is cleaned and organized
</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Required Skills/Abilities:
</b></p><ul><li><p>Ability to read and interpret blueprints
</p></li><li><p>Understanding of GD&amp;T
</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with CNC lathes and measuring equipment
</p></li><li><p>Strong focus on accuracy and quality
</p></li><li><p>Strong communication skills.

</b></p><ul><li><p>High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
</p></li><li><p>Post-Secondary Certificate - awarded for training completed after high school (for example, in Personnel Services, Engineering-related Technologies, NIMS, CNC Trades, Mechanics and Repairers, Precision Production Trades)
</p></li><li><p>At least 3 years of CNC Operation
</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Experience on Nakamura-Tome/Doosan/Puma Lathes is a plus, but not required
</p></li><li><p>Experience on Star Swiss Machines is a plus, but not required
</p></li><li><p>Experience on Miyano Lathes is a plus, but not required</p></li></ul><p>

</b></p><p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, feel/reach with hands/arms, talk, and hear.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

<b>GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:</b> This work involves close interaction with staff, students and parents/guardians, with the primary emphasis on the implementation of specialized or vocational education programs. An Instructional Assistant works under the direction of a licensed teacher. Must be able to react appropriately in crisis situations as well as exhibit initiative and creativity.</div><div>
An employee in this position works within clearly established systems and procedures, must exhibit organizational skills and exercise independent judgment and confidentiality in the performance of duties. An Instructional Assistant SS must exhibit initiative and embrace a collaborative team approach to accomplish the mission of the district.</div><div><b>
QUALIFICATIONS:</b></div><ul><li>
Must have or obtain State and NCLB Approved Paraprofessional designation in accordance with Illinois State Board of Education requirements.</li><li>
Must have physical ability to lift/move supplies, materials and office equipment up to 50 lbs, as well as students needing assistance.</li><li>
Must sit at workstation for extended period of time and/or move frequently from workstation to various other areas of building.</li><li>
Must organize and prioritize workflow.</li><li>
Must be proficient in the use of computers, office practices, procedures and office equipment.</li><li>
Must project a positive image of the district to students, staff and parents as well as exhibit a positive employee attitude.</li><li>
Must demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills, and communicate clearly and respectfully with students, staff, parents, visitors and the general public.</li><li>
Must have awareness of a variety of student needs including physical and social emotional needs.</li><li>
Must have the ability to adapt to all subject areas.</li><li>
