<div>This is a part-time position paying $14-$17 per hour and will average 20-25 hours per week.
The Instructional Interventionist supports academic achievement for students attending Excel Center, meeting students where they are. The Interventionist employs a student-centered approach effectively tailoring individual or small group instruction to students who are struggling academically. Duties include monitoring, reporting, and communicating student progress and performance. The position will work under the direct supervision of the leadership team who will oversee which students receive intervention as well as intervention strategies. This position is funded by the ESSER grant to support the return to in-person instruction and school improvement goals while adhering to the Indiana State Standards.
Example Duties and Activities<ul><li>
Partners with teachers, administration, and families to help identify best practices for the delivery of high-quality instruction to individual students and small groups that meet academic standards and measure progress towards student mastery of the Indiana Academic Standards, Common Core State Standards, and 21st Century Skills.</li><li>
Works with school personnel to implement and utilize identified research-based interventions that specifically focus on individual student needs.</li><li>
Participates in meetings with teachers, coaches, and administration to discuss student placement and progress. Assists with identifying students for placement in intervention groups.</li><li>
Maintains, tracks, and communicates relevant student performance documentation and data to set improvement and/or achievement goals and to drive future evaluation and feedback. Uses data to provide instruction to students and to bring their skills to mastery.</li><li>
Provides diagnostic assessments for students as needed.
</li><li>Assists with student attendance keeping.</li><li>
Develops personal professional/performance goals and action plans to reach goals. Reflects on prior goals and makes adjustments to professional practice and goals.</li><li>
Works directly with staff to develop and implement school-wide goals around graduation outcomes, enrollment needs, student achievement, retention, etc.</li><li>
Works with coaches and leadership staff to aid students&rsquo; progress toward graduation and postsecondary planning.</li><li>
Assists staff with professional development, training, and goal setting.</li><li>
Sets and maintains a high-performance culture for staff and students.</li><li>
Participates in student recruitment, enrollment, and outreach efforts.</li></ul>

Role Mission: The IDEA Interventionist Teacher intervenes with small groups of students who have identified gaps of 2 or more years in Reading and/or Math with the goal of closing that gap by 2 years in just one school year. The IDEA interventionist plays a crucial part in ensuring that all students are prepared to successfully participate in IDEA&rsquo;s AP for All initiative. This is an approach to academic intervention used to provide systematic, and appropriately intensive assistance to children who are at risk for or already underperforming as compared to appropriate grade- or age-level standards. Intervention teachers will use universal screening, Direct Instruction intervention, frequent progress monitoring, and increasingly intensive research-based instruction and interventions for students who continue to have difficulty.

Must meet Paraeducator Employment Requirements as follows*:<ul><li>

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Under the supervision of the building Principal, the Intervention Paraeducator will assist in the delivery of instructional activities, working closely with students on an individual as well as a small group basis. They will collaborate with administrators, teachers and counselors in the delivery of a tutoring program to assist students in reaching and maintaining academic and behavioral success. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist the Academic Interventionist and/or Classroom Teacher in providing social and/or academic interventions to elementary and/or secondary students as follows:<ul><li>
Communicate effectively with students.</li><li>
Assist in providing one-to-one and group instruction to students according to instructional goals.</li><li>
Assist in establishing and maintaining a learning environment to accelerate academic and social-emotional learning.</li><li>
Utilize the principles and processes of student-centered instruction in providing support for academic and social outcomes.</li><li>
Utilize foundational academic and social-emotional concepts to provide effective student support.</li><li>
Maintain accurate data on student progress.</li><li>
Assist in administering and scoring formal and informal tests.</li><li>
Implement behavioral management strategies using the emphasis and techniques that have been outlined by the instructor and intervention plan.</li><li>
Assist in organizing and preparing a variety of instructional materials.</li><li>
Assist in State/Federal recordkeeping as necessary.</li><li>
Attend various training sessions as necessary so as to maintain an up-to-date understanding of the program.</li></ul>

The Educational Resources Teacher works efficiently as a servant-leader to accomplish the essential job results while directly or indirectly providing services to students with academic weaknesses. The Educational Resources Teacher serves as a liaison between the parents, classroom teachers and outside service providers. Consistent with our mission to develop every student with a heart for God, we also focus on the individual success of our students in the classroom. Academic success is defined differently for every student, so we seek to provide a learning environment that enables our students to achieve their educational goals. Educational Resource teachers provide services for students who are struggling with academics in the classroom. It is available for students Pre-K-12 grade. 
Qualifications

</li><li>Collaborate with Director, Coordinator/other Educational Resource Teachers, Therapists and classroom teachers as appropriate
</li>Consult with outside service providers, such as occupational therapists, speech pathologists, tutors, etc.

<ul><li>Perform classroom observations of referred students
</li><li>Communicate, support and model instructional intervention strategies for teachers
</li><li>Develop RTI Plan with written recommendations
</li><li>Communicate with teachers to collect data on specific strategies and process academic referrals
</li><li>Consult with Tier III Intervention Specialist/Educational Therapist and/or Coordinator regarding interpreting and understanding data from Psycho-Educational test report for students that are not in a program, but require accommodations and/or modifications.
</li><li>Develop and Implement an accommodation/modification plan for students not in a program when needed
</li><li>Monitor progress for students that are not in a program
</li></ul>Tier II Academic Support
<ul><li>For Tier II recommended students, assess the level of need through additional academic screening(s)
</li><li>Continue RTI plan with additional Tier II services-include Student Profile sheet
</li><li>Provide direct services to students, such as collaboration in the classroom, small group/1:1 remedial instruction, enhanced study hall and DAP (middle school) directed study hall (high school)
</li><li>Collect, document and track student data in order to make informed decisions regarding student services
</li><li>Communicate and monitor student progress on RTI plan with teachers and parents regularly
</li><li>Communicate with the coordinator to Initiate Psycho-Educational Testing as appropriate
</li><li>Represent the school at ARC meetings and conferences with outside agencies as appropriate
</li>Analyze data and communicate with Tier III Interventionist, ER staff, principles, therapist, etc. for student placement and programming needs

</li></ul>Tier III Interventionist/Educational Therapist
<ul><li>Using data from Psycho-Educational test reports, develop a Student Success Plan, which includes information regarding areas of strengths and weaknesses, write specific annual goals, accommodations/modifications, and additional services the student is receiving
</li><li>Provide direct intensive intervention services to students with Psycho-Educational Testing
</li><li>Provide strategies for home practice that facilities student learning
</li><li>Consult with the ER team and teachers regarding referrals for private specialized services (tutoring, occupation or speech therapy, etc.)
</li><li>Collect and document measurable data on current student goals and objectives
</li><li>Communicate and monitor student progress on Student Success Plans with teachers and parents regularly
</li><li>Monitor the effectiveness of current accommodation/modification plans
</li><li>Modify Student Success Plans as needed and at least yearly
</li><li>Conduct parent conferences to explain testing results, programming, and progress
</li></ul>Reporting Relationship 
The Educational Resource Teacher reports to the Junior Academy and Director of Educational Resources.</div>
