 The Integrated Fire and Security Solutions Orlando, FL branch is seeking a skilled Access Control Technician to join our team! This role involves the installation of Access Control and security systems while ensuring compliance with industry codes and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low-voltage Access Control systems, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
 
 
 
 Essential Duties And Responsibilities

 Install, program, and troubleshoot access control systems, including controllers, readers, door hardware, power supplies, and low‑voltage wiring.
 </li>

 Read and update system drawings, wiring diagrams, and as‑built documentation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Configure system software, user permissions, schedules, and integrations with video or intrusion systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Verify materials, equipment, and device placement for accuracy before installation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Identify scope gaps or field changes and communicate them to project leadership.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure installation quality and code compliance, including NEC and applicable NFPA standards.
 </li>

 Perform system testing, device validation, and troubleshooting to ensure full functionality.

 Coordinate with internal teams, GC, subcontractors, and clients for smooth project execution.

 Required Skills &amp; Qualifications

 3&ndash;4 years of experience in low‑voltage or electronic security installation, with hands‑on access control experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 High School Diploma or GED.
 </li>
 <li>
 Working knowledge of access control equipment and door hardware.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong troubleshooting, organization, and time‑management skills.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficiency with laptops, mobile tools, and system programming software.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to obtain required Florida low‑voltage/security certifications (FASA/BASA if applicable).
 </li>
 <li>
 Understanding of NEC requirements and general low‑voltage standards.
 </li>

 Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver&rsquo;s license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record.

 This role may require extended periods of sitting or standing, movement around the office or job site, and operation of standard equipment. Physical activities can include reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Field positions may involve heavy lifting, working in varying climates (including outdoor conditions), construction or low-voltage environments, and exposure to dust, noise, or confined spaces.
