As an Account Associate at Cursor, you'll be the tip of the spear for pipeline generation &mdash; the first voice a prospective customer hears and the person who earns their attention before an Account Executive ever gets on a call. The Accounting Associate will help minimize errors, prevent fraud and reduce the costs associated with financial mismanagement.</p><p><b>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Process and verify invoices, purchase orders, expense reports and create new accounts using accounting software such as Concur, Bill.com and QuickBooks.</li><li>Ensure all accounts payable transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with GAAP and company policies.</li><li>Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.</li><li>Prepare journal entries related to accounts payable activities, including accruals and adjustments.</li><li>Maintain detailed records of payments, credits, and debits for audit purposes.</li><li>Assist with month-end closing procedures, including general ledger reconciliation and analysis of accounts payable balances.</li><li>Support compliance with controls by documenting processes and maintaining audit-ready documentation.</li><li>Collaborate with the operations, finance, and human resources teams to ensure seamless data entry and processing of vendor information.</li><li>Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accurately posted and discrepancies are resolved promptly.</li><li>Assist in reimbursement and billing procedures in accordance with contractual terms.</li><li>Follow up on overdue accounts through courteous negotiation and effective communication to facilitate collections.</li><li>Maintain detailed records of all transactions, adjustments, and correspondence related to accounts receivable activities.</li><li>Assist with month-end closing processes by preparing journal entries related to receivables and revenue recognition.</li><li>Support audit processes by providing documentation and explanations for accountancy activity in compliance with regulations.</li><li>Collaborate with other departments such as billing, customer service, and finance to ensure smooth revenue cycle management.</li><li>Support in filing business taxes and ensuring compliance with local, provincial and federal regulations.</li><li>Conduct internal audits and variance analyses to identify trends or discrepancies.</li><li>Forecast cash flow and make recommendations based on performance data.</li><li>Maintain internal controls and accounting systems to support accuracy and prevent fraud.</li><li>Able to interpret, document, and organize test requisition order forms, medical records, payer remittance, and related clinical documents.</li><li>Other administrative duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><b>You have</b></p><ul><li>4- year bachelor&rsquo;s degree BA/BS (preferably in accounting or business) or equivalent work experience</li><li>&middot; 3-5 years successful experience in accounts payable/receivable or related accounting roles within public accounting, healthcare, or corporate settings.</li><li>Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial concepts including debits &amp; credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and double entry bookkeeping.</li><li>Experience working with medical terminology, revenue cycle management, or medical collections is a plus.</li><li>Demonstrated ability in negotiation and customer service to resolve billing issues effectively while maintaining professional phone etiquette.</li><li>Knowledge of SOX compliance standards is desirable.</li><li>Skills in analysis, account analysis, financial statement review, and technical accounting are advantageous.</li><li>Ability to perform detailed data entry tasks accurately under tight deadlines.</li><li>Shown to be an independent worker/thinker, self-starter with good communication skills, able to organize its own tasks and activities; seeks timely support and frequent interaction with the finance team to collaborate.</li><li>Good understanding of identifying key financial risks in internal control processes and the ability to make good recommendations to mitigate.</li><li>Experience in working with a remote finance team, which is located overseas (i.e. the Netherlands).</li><li>Practical experience with Salesforce is beneficial and all relevant Office-based software.</li><li>Knowledge of CPT &amp; ICD10 codes, medical terminology, insurance plans and processes.</li><li>Practical experience with Telcor or other revenue cycle management software preferred.</li><li>Highly motivated and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism in all aspects.</li></ul><p><b>We offer</b></p><ul><li>a full-time position, a market competitive salary and market competitive benefits package including 401k match.</li><li>opportunities for personal growth.</li><li>the best of two worlds: a career in life sciences at an innovative biotech company with the emphasis on clinical diagnostics in close collaboration with an academic environment.</li><li>the ability to serve society with science-based solutions.</li></ul><p><b>At SkylineDx</b></p><p>We live to make a difference.
