This opportunity is a full-time day shift opening located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. <p>Summary</p>

<p>Minimum Job Requirements of an <b>Account Operations Tech 3:</b></p>

<p>Duties and Responsibilities of an <b>Account Operations Tech 3:</b></p>
<div><ul><li>Analyzes and investigates reimbursements from third party payors, such as Medicare, Champus, Medicaid, Salud, HMO's, and other payors, to determine if contracted amount has been allowed; researches and analyzes third party payor remittance documentation to determine priority of payment and application of adjustments.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Reconciles and applies changes to patient invoices and account to correct account issues; initiates inquiries, either by phone or in writing, to third party payors, and/or patients to resolve reimbursement and credit balance issues.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Responds to requests from third party payors and/or patients regarding reimbursement problems and issues.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Interacts with and advises internal staff regarding billing and documentation policies, procedures, and serves as liaison with other department representatives to resolve reimbursement and/or credit balance issues.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Prepares adjustment and refund request forms.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Collects, analyzes, and summarizes data for preparation of statistical reports; creates and maintains specified data files and logs, maintains computerized systems for collection and tracking of data, and assists in the preparation of reports.</li></ul>

Assures proper approvals, vendor information, and supporting documentation are present prior to processing payments. Process credit card transactions and reconciles related monthly statement. Work with other staff members to verify vendor information, including requesting W-9 forms and verifying payment addresses. Following policies and procedures, accept cash receipt information from City departments daily. Balances cash on hand against receipts; prepares and balances deposits; makes a listing of deposits by accounts; examines receipts for accuracy and completeness; deposits monies into bank. In the case of select revenue sources this position will also log and track data related to the sources of income. Accumulates, calculates, posts, balances, and reconciles data for specific accounts; identifies, traces, and otherwise resolves discrepancies in accordance with established procedures. Posts invoices for payments to the general ledger. Prepares and makes bank deposits and records. Assists the general purchasing process of the City including inputting purchase order information by encumbering, posting, balancing, and printing checks. Composes, inputs, and edits a variety of correspondence, reports, memoranda and other material requiring judgement as to content, accuracy, and completeness. Will at times serve as a back-up to other positions within the department. Other duties as assigned.</p><p><b>DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</b> <b>Education and Experience</b>: Graduation from High School or GED supplemented by two (2) years of post-secondary training in accounting, bookkeeping, or closely related field, including two (2) quarters/semesters of accounting, and three (3) years of increasingly responsible related experience. An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered.
