We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with experience in the Omani market to join our maritime operations in Sohar. The ideal candidate will manage full-cycle bookkeeping, ensuring financial accuracy across vessel and port-related transactions while maintaining strict compliance with Omani tax regulations and IFRS standards.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Operations: Manage the full Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) cycles, including daily journaling specifically for vessel and port operations.Reconciliations: Conduct monthly bank, vendor, and client reconciliations; oversee aging reports and proactively resolve payment disputes.Tax &amp; Compliance: Ensure all transactions adhere to IFRS and Oman Tax Authority standards; prepare and file VAT returns and manage maritime-specific tariffs.Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements, analyze vessel profitability, and perform budget vs. actual variance analysis.Coordination: Liaise with shipping agents, port authorities, and suppliers to resolve financial queries and facilitate internal/external audits.Qualifications &amp; SkillsEducation: B.Com or M.Com degree (Preferred).Experience: 1&ndash;2 years of accounting experience within Oman or the GCC is required.Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Tally Prime and advanced MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).Industry Knowledge: A strong grasp of maritime financial documentation and cargo logistics is a significant advantage.Core Attributes: High level of integrity, analytical mindset, and the ability to consistently meet strict month-end deadlines.Note to Applicants: Talented freshers who possess the required technical skills and a strong understanding of Omani accounting standards are also encouraged to apply.Job Type: Full-timePay: RO200.000 - RO300.000 per monthWork Location: In person
