Responsibilities:
The VP, Accounting &amp; Controller is a key member of the Finance function, reporting directly to the CFO. Financial Reporting &amp; Close<ul><li>

Oversee preparation of quarterly consolidated financial results and reporting packages for submission to the parent company, including supporting schedules, variance explanations, and intercompany eliminations</li><li>

Qualifications

Dealership or Powersports Controller experiences is required.</li><li>
Lightspeed experiences is highly preferred.</li><li>
Experience performing multiple reconciliations including vehicle inventories, floorplan, and vendor accounts.</li><li>
Very strong computer skills, particularly with Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.</li><li>
Knowledge of California labor laws a plus.</li><li>
Some travel is required being that the dealerships are in California and Florida.</li><li>

JOB SUMMARY: A fast growing tech-based services company is seeking a hands-on Controller to develop and execute our accounting policies and processes so that we can meet our financial growth goals. This individual will be working closely with our VP of Finance, CEO and business unit leaders to ensure that our books are kept up to date and accurate for quick decision making and reporting. The Controller must be extremely detail oriented yet efficient, and have a deep understanding of GAAP. Candidate will need input from a variety of employees and must be an effective collaborator. The ability to lead and build teams, troubleshoot, manage relationships, and create foundational and organizational systems in fast moving and dynamic environment is critical to this role. This role will be ever changing and will require the candidate to be flexible and open-minded.DUTIES &amp; ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS&middot; Performing and managing the weekly bank reconciliations, Accounts Payables and Receivables.&middot; Developing, managing, and enforcing GAAP-compliant procedures.&middot; Performing and managing the monthly and quarterly financial statements closing processes and KPI&rsquo;s and performance reports.&middot; Managing accounts receivables and accounts payables invoice processing and collection through completion.&middot; Working closing with the company&rsquo;s executives to create and maintain budgeting tools including revenue and expense forecasting, budget-to actual/variance reporting, financial planning and analysis, cash flow analysis, and cost savings analysis.&middot; Learning the Company&rsquo;s business and tools to be able to extract and manipulate relevant data.&middot; Managing payroll budgeting and auditing payroll for accuracy.&middot; Ensuring a smooth audit process by creating and maintaining internal controls, establishing and maintaining immaculate record keeping and managing the audit process.&middot; Setting and managing financial KPIs to help manage and control the company&rsquo;s business.&middot; Managing the companies accounting system and processes including migrating all accounting activities of the company to a financial system.&middot; Anticipating and evaluating business needs to make sure that financial organization andsystems appropriately support the company&rsquo;s growth.&middot; Setting up the depreciation and amortization schedules.&middot; Ability to negotiate term contracts.&middot; Managing internal and external teams and vendors by setting expectations, training internal staff accountants and developing training modules and templates&middot; Managing outside vendors.&middot; Ability to understand and build financial models.&middot; Participating in financial preparation and analysis for any financing activities and M&amp;A transactions.&middot; Filing annual tax returns on time.&middot; Providing any necessary financial information that necessary to meet any of company&rsquo;scompliance obligations.SKILLS &amp; PREREQUISITES&middot; 5 &ndash; 10 years of related experience.&middot; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required; concentration in accounting or finance preferred.&middot; Experience in the Big-4 (or comparable) and CPA or CPA candidate preferred but not required.&middot; Strong knowledge of corporate finance and other accounting theory, principles and practices to include GAAP, SaaS accounting, prepaid expenses &amp; accrued revenue, ASC 605: Revenue Recognition, ASC 985-605: Software Revenue Recognition, ASC 805: Business Combinations and ASC 718: Stock-Based Compensation.&middot; Ability to prepare statistical reports and analyze financial reports.&middot; Proficient in three statement financial modeling and forecasting with appropriate footnotes.&middot; Knowledge of research techniques to analyze data and make recommendations&middot; Ability to describe accounting systems and processes in written correspondence and in procedure manual format.&middot; Ability to perform mathematical computations accurately and quickly, including computation of ratios and percentages.&middot; Strong knowledge of and experience with tax processes including:o Federal and State and applicable city tax preparationo Depreciation and amortization schedules (MACRS)o R&amp;D Tax Credit Form 6765, R&amp;D Tax Credit Inputs/Study, 2016 R&amp;D Tax Credit Payroll Offseto Net Operating Losses (NOLs)o Local Business Registrations &amp; Complianceo W9/1099 and W8/1042 implementation and execution&middot; Hi proficiency of knowledge of Microsoft Office; Google professional wok space tools, various spreadsheets and other analytical and reporting software, accounting software including QuickBooks and other competitive systems such as NetSuite, Expensify and Bill.com; and budgeting software such as Grow, Domo, and Spotlight&middot; Comfort in the startup environment (i.e., sometimes chaotic and lacking structure) and able to create structure and foundational accounting processes.&middot; Strong priority and time management skills&middot; Understanding the importance and the ability to meet deadlines&middot; Strong oral and written communication skillsWork Location: In person
