Our Accounting Supervisor is an operational team leader over a staff of Bookkeepers and others. This role oversees and leads a group responsible for the preparation and maintenance of client financial records including balance sheets, income statements, bank reconciliations, general ledger reports, cash disbursements, and cash flow statements for over 550 of our customers. There are additional requirements related to the banking, client set up, deposits, reporting, and tax preparation as well.
Experience in our industry is NOT required. We have a fantastic training program and learning system to assist you in becoming the expert. All we ask for is a leader with a servant attitude who enjoys developing and supporting others. We would like to see at least 8-10 years of solid leadership and management experience in financial services, banking, accounting, or similar fields, along with a bachelor's degree with major coursework in accounting.

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
Financial Close &amp; Reporting Integrity
Lead the Service division month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Oversee revenue recognition, accruals, intercompany activity, and balance sheet reconciliations while maintaining a disciplined close calendar and documented procedures.
 Revenue Recognition &amp; Accounts Receivable Oversight 
Ensure service revenue is properly recognized in accordance with GAAP, and the billing processes operate effectively. Oversee accounts receivable, unbilled balances, bad debt reserves, and amortization schedules while partnering with operational leaders to maintain healthy billing and collection cycles.
Balance Sheet &amp; Intercompany Management 
Maintain the integrity of the Service division balance sheet related accounts through disciplined reconciliation processes and oversight of key accounts including deferred revenue, warranty reserves, WIP, inventory, and intercompany balances.
Operational Accounting &amp; Inventory Oversight 
Provide financial oversight of operational accounting functions including inventory management, cycle count processes, and reserve methodologies to ensure accurate valuation and reporting.
Audit, Compliance &amp; Internal Controls 
Serve as the primary accounting liaison for the service segment for all external audits while ensuring strong internal controls and compliance with GAAP across the service accounting segment.

Requirements:
<ul><li>7&ndash;10 years of progressive accounting experience</li><li>
Strong background in revenue recognition, WIP accounting, and operational accounting preferably in the marina industry</li><li>
Experience managing accounting teams</li><li>
ERP implementation experience (NetSuite preferred)</li><li>
Strong GAAP knowledge and audit experience</li><li>
Process-oriented with a systems and controls mindset</li><li>
