Respond to crisis situations and to Campus/College-critical incidents requiring counseling services (e.<br>

Respond to early alert referrals requiring counselor intervention.<br>

Responsible and accountable for a case load of at-risk students (i.e., probation, suspension, repeaters, early alert) by providing counseling on disciplinary probation or suspension, as referred by the Dean of Student Services, to address behaviors in violation of the Student Code of Conduct.<br>
<br>
Provide online counseling services via email, phone, and other applicable technology to include out-of-district, out-of-state, and distance education students as needed.<br>
<br>
Maintain confidential student records.<br>
<br>
Provide community resources and follow-up as needed.<br>
<br>
Work with faculty to assist students who may be experiencing academic or personal challenges.<br>
<br>
May serve on the College Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment Team.<br>
<br>
Review medical documentation and determine appropriate accommodations.<br>

ADA Counselor ensures accommodations are consistent across campus and within legal requirements.<br>
<br>
The ADA/504 Counselor, in consultation with legal counsel and the Office of EEO and Title IX, make alterations in the protocol or individual accommodation plans as legal decisions/requirements dictate change.<br>
<br>
Educate and assist faculty and staff with ADA and 504 regulations.<br>
<br>
Ensure appropriate processes are in place to provide for the prompt and unbiassed resolution of complaints and inquiries from HCC students regarding discrimination based on disability.<br>
<br>
Maintain current information regarding state and federal laws and regulations, as well as the best practices of other colleges/universities concerning the rights of students with disabilities.<br>
<br>
Maintain current information regarding ways of providing reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities while maintaining program performance standards.<br>
<br>
Develop and maintain written materials and other informational pieces to broadly disseminate information regarding the ADA and HCC&rsquo;s policies relating to students with disabilities.<br>
<br>
Develop and implement internal measures and/or reports which inform HCC administration of the status of ADA compliance and opportunities for students with disabilities.<br>
<br>
Coordinate with the Office of EEO and Title IX on student complaints alleging discrimination and non-compliance under the ADA and other applicable federal and state laws regarding discrimination based on disability.<br>

In this role, you will have the opportunity to have a positive impact on the children, point them towards God while guiding campers through engaging activities such as: STEM science projects, Art, Outdoor time, gym games, music rotations, and more! All in a safe and inclusive environment. This paid full time summer position with shifts between the hours of 7am-6pm Monday - Friday, June 1st - August 7th.</p><p><b>Duties</b></p><ul><li>Lead and facilitate a variety of camp activities including sports, arts and crafts, bible lessons, and outdoor adventures to ensure an engaging experience for all participants. All lesson plans are done by our camp director and provided for our counselors. Counselors would just need to facilitate the planned activities with their group of children.</li><li>Maintain a safe environment by supervising children closely, enforcing camp rules, and implementing proper behavior management techniques. All counselors will be required to pass an extensive background check and fingerprint check.</li><li>Provide basic first aid when necessary, responding promptly to minor injuries or health concerns with professionalism and care. First AID and CPR certification will be provided to you prior to camp starting.</li><li>Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance through tailored activities and compassionate guidance.</li><li>Foster positive relationships with campers by encouraging teamwork, respect, and inclusivity in all interactions. Counselors are required to have patience and kindness towards children.</li><li>Assist with daily camp routines such as check-in/check-out procedures, snack times, and setting up activity stations.</li><li>Collaborate and remain professionalism with all other staff members, maintaining a family-like atmosphere amongst staff members.</li><li>Counselors must be okay working in a church setting.</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Previous experience working with children in settings such as daycare, babysitting, tutoring, or camp programs is highly desirable.</li><li>Availability for full time hours Monday-Friday, 7am-6pm, June 1st - August 7th.</li><li>Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already held.</li><li>Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.</li><li>Passion for working with youth in a fun, energetic environment that promotes learning through play.</li><li>Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with enthusiasm while maintaining a positive attitude.</li></ul><p>Garden Oaks Baptist Church believes the church and its programs should be a family inviting others into the life giving story of Jesus.
