About the Role:
As a Therapist within our Health Care Services team in Huntsville/Madison, you will play a pivotal role in supporting individuals and families through various mental health challenges. Your primary objective will be to provide compassionate, evidence-based therapeutic interventions that promote emotional well-being and resilience. You will work collaboratively with clients to assess their needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and facilitate individual and group therapy sessions. This role demands a deep understanding of psychological principles and the ability to apply diverse therapeutic techniques to address issues such as crisis situations, behavioral health concerns, and life transitions. Ultimately, your work will contribute to improving the quality of life for clients by fostering healthier coping mechanisms and emotional growth.
Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>
Master&rsquo;s degree or higher in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field required.</li><li>
Professional licensure is required. ALC, LPC, LMSW, LICSW, or LMFT licensure.</li><li>
Demonstrated experience in providing psychotherapy and mental health counseling.</li><li>
Strong knowledge of crisis intervention and behavioral health management.</li><li>
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse client populations.</li><li>
If recovering, three years of continuous verifiable sobriety.</li></ul>

Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Conduct a comprehensive Psychosocial Assessment.</li><li>
Evaluate and integrate assessment findings from all disciplines and databases into a clinical summary.</li><li>
Transform issues identified in the treatment focus of the clinical summary into treatment plans with specific goals, objectives and corresponding treatment interventions.</li><li>
Clearly and legibly document the patient&rsquo;s clinical course of treatment, in the progress notes.</li><li>
Manage and coordinate the patient&rsquo;s work on treatment objectives while keeping the patient, clinical team, payers, and referral sources involved and/or informed of the patient&rsquo;s progress or lack of progress as appropriate.</li><li>
Formulate and document a discharge summary that summarizes significant findings, course and progress of the patient with regard to each identified clinical problem, course of treatment and the final assessment of patient&rsquo;s condition initially, during treatment and at discharge.</li><li>
Integrate working knowledge of 12-Step Programs and Principles into the therapeutic process and treatment plan while maintaining a professional treatment focus.</li><li>
Manage caseload, documentation requirements and treatment delivery responsibilities in a professional and acceptable manner.</li><li>
Conduct individual counseling sessions appropriate for the treatment of the addictive disorders.</li><li>
Conduct group therapy sessions appropriate for the treatment of addictive disorders.</li><li>
Conduct specialty groups that are relevant to addiction treatment.</li><li>
Perform conjoint family counseling, integrating a complete understanding of the underlying dynamics of codependency and the effects of addiction of families.</li><li>
Conduct basic education lectures and presentations relevant to addiction treatment.</li></ul><ul><li>
Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance, must not appear impaired or disoriented, but rather must present coherent and articulate speech, kept appearance, alert, oriented, and responsive to patients' needs and concerns.</li><li>
Perform supervision, if assigned, and document supervision of supervisee according to policy and procedure</li><li>
Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers, managers, clients and prospective clients.</li><li>
Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness as to perform the job in a safe manner.</li><li>

Job Description: 
The Addiction Psychiatrist works alongside a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, peers support specialists, drug and alcohol counselors. housing specialists, occupational therapists and licensed vocational nurses/licensed psychiatric technicians. The psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric and addiction treatment services within clinic and telehealth settings. Primary responsibilities include conducting psychiatric and substance use disorder evaluations, formulating diagnoses, and developing evidence based treatment plans for individuals with co occurring mental health and substance use conditions.
 
Duties include: 
<ul>
<li>Providing ongoing medication management, including prescribing and monitoring Medications for Addiction Treatment (MAT).</li>
<li>Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to support integrated, recovery oriented care.</li>
<li>Delivering utilization review, medication monitoring, and quality assurance activities.</li>
<li>Educating clients, families, and caregivers on medication related and addiction treatment considerations.</li>
<li>Collaborating with juvenile courts, care coordinators, and community partners as needed regarding treatment recommendations.</li>
</ul>
This role reports to the Medical Director and the Assistant Vice President of Medication Support Services.
 
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited medical school and satisfactory completion of a psychiatric residency program approved by the AMA or the American Osteopathic Association. Must be a Board-Certified Psychiatrist or board eligible. Must possess current California MD License, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner CA license, DEA registration, and NPI number confirmation. Must maintain a minimum of $1,000,000.00/$3,000,000 of professional liability insurance. Knowledge of newer medications preferred. Ability and comfortable with use of technology is required. Bilingual/Bi-cultural Spanish speaking is desired but not required. Comfort prescribing Medications for Addiction Treatment is required.
