Duties and Responsibilities: 
Adjunct Faculty duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
1. providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules;

Under supervision of the Dean of General Education, the adjunct instructor provides a learning experience in the classroom, online, and/or in the lab using a variety of teaching methods such as lectures and demonstrations and using audiovisual and technological aids to supplement the presentations as well as evaluating their achievements.</div>

Keep students engaged in a classroom environment while following an established curriculum/syllabus.</li><li>
Create positive educational climate for students to learn in while establishing and communicating clear objectives for all learning activities.</li><li>
Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.</li><li>
Manage student behavior in the classroom/online. Observe and evaluate student's performance.</li><li>
Identify and refer students who are &ldquo;at risk&quot; of not being successful to the Student Success Coordinator.</li><li>
Provide ongoing student advisement and academic counseling by tutoring and mentoring students on an individual basis when needed.</li><li>
Grade tests and projects, maintain grade books, track attendance and perform other administrative duties as needed.</li><li>
Administer oral, written, or performance tests to measure progress and to evaluate training effectiveness.</li><li>

Rochester Community and Technical College is seeking an Adjunct Aviation Instructor to teach in the Aviation Pilot program for the Fall 26' semester. This position may include instruction in ground school and other aviation-related coursework.
The Adjunct Aviation Instructor will provide instruction in Aviation Pilot program courses. Teaching assignments may include topics such as Private Pilot, Instrument, Commercial, and CFI ground school courses, as well as Advanced Aircraft Systems or Aviation Human Factors. The successful candidate will demonstrate competency in aviation instruction and a strong commitment to student learning.
Start date for this position is 8/24/2026.

Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree</li><li>
2 full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid occupational experience as a pilot and/or flight instructor, including a minimum of 200 hours of dual instruction.</li><li>
1 year of this work experience must be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field.</li><li>
The recency requirement will be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.</li><li>
Must also hold Certified Flight Instructor &ndash; Airplane (CFI) and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) credentials.</li></ul>
