<b>Role</b><br>
<br>
Under the direction of the Principal, this position manages the main office of a school and renders administrative assistance to the principal and other members of the school staff. This position requires a high level of secretarial skill and experience.<br>
<br>
<b>Essential Functions</b><br>
<br>
Reporting directly to the Principal, the Administrative Secretary performs the following duties:<br>
<ul><li>Uses experience and judgment to resolve problems and prioritize work on behalf of the school.</li>
<li>Maintains proficiency in the use of technology to meet administrative needs.</li>
<li>Maintains consistent and reliable attendance.</li>
<li>Manages an office under the direction of an Administrator; trains and supervises staff.</li>
<li>Maintains financial records/reports, payroll records, school funds, and student activity funds.</li>
<li>Composes routine correspondence.</li>
<li>Orders and receives supplies and checks invoices.</li>
<li>Prepares, types, and proofreads letters, memos, reports and presentations, observations and evaluations.</li>
<li>Effectively uses the automated purchasing system, student information system, and substitute calling system.</li>
<li>Maintains filing systems, attendance reports, logs, and trip records.</li>
<li>Answers telephone, takes messages, greets visitors, makes appointments, and gives information.</li>
<li>Distributes mail and supplies.</li>
<li>Prepares materials for meetings, conferences, and workshops.</li>
<li>Operates various office machines and trains others.</li>
