MAJOR FUNCTIONS: Under general direction, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible under direction of a physician for providing general medical care, preventative care and treatment to patients in one of the agency's clinics. This includes diagnosis, treatment, consultation and follow-up care. This individual attends to the patient's need with the utmost patient care, compassion and understanding. This work is carried out in support of the mission. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: <ul><li>Performs routine physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of a physician based on assigned program.</li><li>Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.</li><li>Records accurate medical histories, physical findings and formulates plan and prognosis based on patient's condition.
