Maintains accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end statistical data (Interventions) on all Levels of Supervision, Intensive Supervision Program offenders, and Substance Abuse Intervention and Detection activities and outcomes;25. Responsibilities 
<ul><li>Incumbent will serve as Probation Officer and may be placed in any open division with the probation department. Performs duties of a Probation Officer, including but not limited to: writing pre-sentence investigation and pre-trial reports, completing assessments and sending appropriate referrals, and maintaining / supervising adult probation cases in accordance to Indiana Judicial Standards.

DEFINITION:Under the direction of the Tribal Executive Officer or designee, the Probation/Tribal Court Officer is responsible for probationary related duties for adult/juvenile offenders under the jurisdiction of the Walker River Paiute Tribe (WRPT) Tribal Court. The Probation/Tribal Court Officer will work to supervise/manage individuals placed on probation or parole, monitor probationary compliance with court orders, conditions of release, assisting the individual toward rehabilitation and other related probationary oversight duties.In addition to the probation duties, this position is also responsible for security and maintaining order of WRPT Tribal Court. The Probation/Tribal Court Officer is responsible for providing courtroom safety and security of tribal court proceedings, preventing life-threating activities toward courtroom personnel, witnesses, visiting public as well as taking appropriate measures to protect WRPT Tribal Court property during Court proceedings. PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Provide supervision of offenders placed on probation with the goals of protection of the public, assistance of victims, and the reduction of recidivism, as directed by the Hendricks County Courts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Makes recommendations for adjudication and disposition of probationer and prepares probation case plans.</li><li>
Supervises and monitors juveniles on probation through regular home, school and office visits and other needed contacts. Determines the needs of the client and family and develops supervision plans for clients.</li><li>

In preparation for placement, transport to medical appointments, purchasing clothing, obtaining medical and psychological reports for court proceedings.

</li><li>Must be available to assist Pre and Post facilities in the supervision of residents in the event there is a staff shortage or an emergency due to unforeseen circumstances which may include shift work.
</li><li>May be required to provide direct supervision of all resident's daily activities, including but not limited to the education program, basic arts and crafts, outdoor activities all while maintaining safety and order of all residents. In addition at times there may be the requirement to provide one-to-one supervision where appropriate to ensure the safety of youth including moderate or high risk suicide risk observation.</li><li>
Properly apply a physical restraint as instructed by Handle With Care, when a juvenile is physically harming themselves or others, property damage over $50 and/or attempting to escape.</li><li>
A JPO shall not initiate or maintain an inappropriate relationship with any juvenile under the supervision of the CCJJD. An inappropriate relationship can include but is not limited to bribery, solicitation of gifts, favors or services from the resident or their families and/or any actions that could be construed as an inappropriate relationship.</li><li>
Adhere, maintain, and comply with professional conduct and ethical behavior consistent with the standards and policies and procedures expected by the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), TJJD, Cameron County, and Cameron County Juvenile Justice Department (CCJJD) at all time, both on duty and off duty.</li><li>
Adhere and comply with all PREA standards and will follow zero tolerance towards all forms of sexual abuse and sexual harassment while conducting business in the pre and post-adjudication facilities.</li><li>

Monitors and supervises felony defendants who are released on conditional bonds and initiates court action for any misconduct. Maintains liaison collaboration between the defendant, the courts, the Prosecutor, the Office of the Public Defender, and other components of the criminal justice system Conducts conferences and investigations and writes recommended reports, court orders and other agreements and correspondence. Conducts analysis of financial data and makes recommendations for fines/costs to assist Judges in sentencing, including recommendations regarding probationers failing to comply with their probation. Supervises and counsels probationers and ensures that all conditions of probation are met. Makes referrals to various programs and resource agencies to assist probationers with drug, alcohol, or other problems.</div></div>

<div><ul><li>Interviews and gathers information on background, length of time in the community, ties to the community, and other relevant data from defendants housed in the Ingham County Jail or who have been released on bond. Reviews the background of persons awaiting sentencing on district court convictions, including interviewing the defendant, reviewing the complaint report, criminal history, driving record, and other pertinent information. Verifies information gathered through criminal history checks utilizing programs including CourtView or other case management systems, Judicial Information Services (JIS), Judicial Data Warehouse (JDW), Statewide Records Management System (SRMS), Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) reports, and other sources to determine criminal history, status in the criminal justice system and to assess the likelihood of pretrial misconduct.</li><li>
Uses independent judgment and discretion to interpret collected data. Prepares bond, risk or substance use assessment, pre-sentence and probation violation reports which include a summary of information from the police and defendant, social and criminal history, and alcohol assessment results. Makes a judgment based on the information gathered and prepares recommendations on the most proper court action, including incarceration, tether program, alternative sentences, or other measures. As required by the Crime Victim&rsquo;s Rights Act, includes written statements from victims of any physical or emotional injury or economic restitution owed the victim.</li><li>
Supervises the offender during the term of bond and/or probation and ensures full compliance with probation orders. Monitors and verifies house arrest, drug testing, AA attendance, sex offender registration, and other required conditions of probation.</li><li>
Evaluates eligible defendants and submit referrals for potential placement into the problem-solving court programs at the 55th District and other local Courts.</li><li>
Review procedures with new probationers, including explaining the order of probation and court policies and procedures, scheduling report days and appointments, and processing necessary record.</li><li>
Uses professional judgment and discretion to identify and assess the defendant&rsquo;s needs in areas including physical and mental health, substance abuse, employment counseling and school enrollment. Prepares and provides community resource referral information. Maintains regular contact with such agencies to discuss the compliance and progress of the client. Writes and submits related reports for judicial review.</li><li>
Initiates show cause or bench warrants when the probationer fails to comply with the terms of probation. Documents allegations of non-compliance, requests subpoenas, or witness participation if needed.</li><li>
Updates and maintains court and probation records to reflect the most recent contact information for all defendants in supervision status. Ensures that the Court, Prosecuting Attorney, Office of the Public Defender, or retained counsel have access to all current contact information.</li><li>
Actively monitors and supervises defendants; verifies they understand the conditions of their pretrial release or probation terms. Notifies defendants of scheduled court dates and maintains regular contact from pretrial status through to adjudication and/or probation discharge. Makes every effort to ensure that the defendant continues to comply with all conditions of release and/or probation.</li><li>
Authors supervision summary reports that highlight the defendants&rsquo; relevant supervision and monitoring information for the Judge&rsquo;s consideration, review, and action.</li><li>
Prepares and submits reports to the prosecutor, defense counsel, and judge if the defendant is non-compliant with terms and conditions of release. Initiates show cause notices, appears in court, and provides testimony and evidence of non-compliance. Makes recommendations to the court to continue, modify or revoke bond and/or probation.</li><li>
Administers Preliminary Breath Tests when it is suspected the defendant has consumed alcohol and/or drugs, refers probationers to the lab for drug screening, interprets the results, and takes further action as needed.</li><li>
Analyzes financial information provided by the parties and their employers, including wage documentation, child care verification, medical cost and insurance documentation, and records relating to unemployment, disability, and other financial sources. Monitors payment records, including fines, costs, and restitution owed to the court by probationers. Sets up payment plans with probationers.</li><li>
Responds to requests for information from the defendant and or counsel, court staff, jail personnel, and the prosecutor&rsquo;s office. Reviews and analyzes technical and legal documents relating to the case, including police reports, motions, transcripts, evaluations, and child protective proceedings documents.</li><li>
