The <b>Adult Services Librarian</b> provides reference and Readers&rsquo; Advisory services and technology assistance to Library customers and leads paraprofessional staff in managing collections and providing programs. Assists Library customers in the use of digital and print resources, and promotes Library resources, programs, and services.</p><br>

RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><br>

</li><li>Upholds the highest standards of customer service with polite, helpful, and efficient interactions with vendors, customers, and staff.</li>
<li>Provides leadership, training and guidance to staff and the public in the area of Adult &amp; Teen Services.</li>
<li>Stays current with adult and teen literature, relevant technology, and library trends.
</li><li>Provides reference and Reader&rsquo;s Advisory assistance for users, including topical research and material location.</li>
<li>Works with Collection Services to manage the adult collection.
</li><li>May periodically serve as Person In Charge (PIC), providing support for employees, customers, and facility issues.
</li><li>Performs special projects involving Library promotion and outreach activities in areas of expertise. Conducts Library tours.</li>
<li>Coordinates and/or conducts the proctoring of exams for public.
</li><li>Develops, implements, and staffs programs for adults.</li>
<li>Prepares reports and statistics for review as requested.</li>
<li>Troubleshoots and resolves minor computer hardware and software problems.

Adult Services Librarian - Naper Boulevard Library

<p><b>General Summary:</b></p><p>The Adult Services / Lead Librarian is a full-time, non-union, non-exempt, 40-hour, 52 week per year position that oversees the library&rsquo;s budget, physical materials, programs, and staff, ensuring all operations follow the policies set by the Board of Library Trustees. This position works closely with the Trustees as both an advisor and active contributor in developing policies, preparing and managing the budget, setting goals, planning services, and evaluating outcomes.</p><p>In addition to providing direct service to patrons, this role carries broader operational, technology, and reporting responsibilities under the Library&rsquo;s updated organizational structure. <p>Oceanside Library is seeking a high-performing, enthusiastic, and dedicated Librarian or Librarian-Trainee to join our team and work in our innovative Adult Services and Information Department.
