<div>Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County has an opening for a Taste NY Assistant Market Manager working full-time at the Grand Island location. 
 
This position will serve as the Taste NY Assistant Market Manager for Cornell Cooperative Extension Erie County and will work under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director and the Taste NY Market Manager.
 
 
The Erie Taste New York Store and program promotes local agricultural products and agri-tourism and will help represent Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County to the public, NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets and Cornell University; a familiarity with local agriculture products and retail food sales will be demonstrated. Primary responsibilities include clerical/administrative support with day-to-day planning, coordination, routine management, guidance to market clerk staff, straightforward inventory management, purchasing, operation of cash register, basic cash controls, operation and maintenance of inventory and Point of Sale software, regular staff scheduling, transportation of inventory from warehouse to store, customer service, and general record keeping. This position will provide oversight to temporary program staff and program volunteers as needed.
 
 
Position may require travel to vendor locations to pick up orders as assigned by Supervisor.

Administrative Coordination/Operation - 80% 
<ul><li>Assist with establishing work schedules/staff scheduling based on needs of the Marketplace.</li><li>Learn and work with inventory software and POS software.</li><li>Receive incoming deliveries and management logistics of inputting products into the POS system and getting them ready to be on the sale floor.</li><li>Support Market Manager in inventory management; monthly shrink records and physical inventory.</li><li>Assist Market Manager in cash errands and off-site errands.</li><li>Support Market Manager for the timely delivery of inventory invoices and purchase orders in preparation for accounting department.</li><li>Following procedures, purchase concession items, consumables, and janitorial goods.</li><li>Provide routine clerical and retail market service.</li><li>Act in the capacity of cashier, stock clerk, and utility clerk as necessary when short staffed.</li><li>Provide routine support to Market Manager to analyze electronic problems with POS hardware and software or mechanical issues with refrigerators, freezers and/or other machinery at facility.</li><li>Coordinate repairs on programs or machinery with appropriate vendors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities</div><div>
The Assistant Property Manager should be capable of managing the community in the temporary absence of the Property Manager. This includes being able to perform all functions which are included in the Property Manager&rsquo;s job description, or as directed by the Property Manager.</div><div></div><ul><li> 
In the absence of the Property Manager, the APM is in charge of the office and shall become responsible for all monies pertaining to the community and must ensure daily bank deposits are made.</li><li>Show apartments and process applications for prospective residents.</li><li>Handle and coordinate all details of move-ins and move-outs.</li><li>Prepare and maintain resident files according to company policies.</li><li>Initiate the lease renewal process and forward completed packets to the Property Manager for approval.</li><li>Process maintenance service requests.</li><li>Actively participate in maintaining good resident relations in the community.</li><li>Prepare weekly traffic/renewal status reports.</li><li>Keep the advertising and websites file up to date.</li><li>Cooperate with other departments within the company.</li><li>Handle any other special assignments which may be given from time to time by the Property Manager or Regional Property Manager.</li><li>If there is more than one Assistant Property Manager at a site, the Property Manager will designate the Assistant Property Manager who will be in charge of the property in the Property Manager&rsquo;s absence.</li><li>Perform Outreach Marketing as directed by Property Manager/Regional Property Manger.</li><li>Follow-up on prospective rental leads/visitors.</li><li>Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as instructed.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Managing People - Includes staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement; Takes responsibility for subordinates' activities; Provides regular performance feedback; Develops subordinates' skills and encourages growth; Solicits and applies customer feedback (internal and external).
Qualifications
Must have one or more of the following:<ul><li>4-year Degree</li><li>2-year Associates Degree</li><li>2 years&rsquo; work experience in retail sales or customer related service</li></ul> 
Other Qualifications:<ul><li>Professional Appearance</li><li>Detailed oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills</li><li>Knowledge of apartment rental and collection practices</li><li>Excellent customer service skills as well as sales and marketing skills</li><li>Organizational and multi-tasking skills</li><li>Ability to work well with others and ability to work independently</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Yardi expertise preferred</li></ul>
