As Applied Scientist on our team, your focus will be on solving the most complex problems that prevent our customers from successfully adoption AI at scale. You will research new methods for overcoming obstacles that are beyond engineering solutions. These include advanced methods for agent grounding and evals, novel methods for multi-agent orchestration and semantic data layer, and innovative approaches to optimizing customer token costs, just to name a few.
 
 
A successful candidate will have a strong machine learning background, a deep understanding of the AI stack, and a desire to push the envelope in applying AI to the most difficult practical problems preventing adoption at scale and in business-critical situations. 
 
As a senior member of the team, you will own ambiguous, high-impact research problems end-to-end &mdash; from defining the scientific direction to conducting the research, to packaging it into a reusable solution that the rest of the team can apply in customer-facing engagements.
 
 
As an Applied Scientist, you will leverage your technical expertise to set the research agenda for how we measure conversational quality, mentor engineers and architects, and partner across science, engineering, and business teams. About The Role
As an Applied AI Scientist in the FieldML team, you will be responsible for developing and customizing large language models and more broadly large-scale deep learning models to solve specific customer problems. You won't just advise; you will build. You will bridge the gap between state-of-the-art research and real-world applications by helping customers harness the power of the Cerebras Wafer-Scale Engine (WSE) for their AI initiatives.

Computational Data Scientist<ul><li>
Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland</li><li>
Security Clearance: Active Clearance or Eligible to Obtain - U.S. citizenship required</li><li>
Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 Depending on Experience and Education</li><li>

Position Summary
SURVICE Engineering is currently seeking a Computational Data Scientist to support our Aberdeen Research Operation. You will accelerate your career and become an integral team member within the defense community.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>
Carry out forward-looking programs of materials research and process modeling leveraging data science methodologies and tools including artificial intelligence, machine learning (ML), probabilistic graph models, neural networks, or other emergent techniques.</li><li>
Work with a multidisciplinary team of ARL experimental, theoretical, and computational scientists through decision making aids such as visual analytics and human-in-the-loop strategies to improve scientific efficiency and impact.</li><li>
Apply learning algorithms on high-dimensional, complex and/or streaming data sets with limited labels and of diverse quality for smart decision making.</li><li>
Pursue data processing of heterogeneous types from numeric, digital objects, images, structured to unstructured from data capture, data integration, data cleaning to data management.</li><li>
Interface with data scientists in academic, industrial and government labs to identify and transition cutting edge tools for use at ARL, and work with outside partners to fill critical gaps in skills and capabilities.</li><li>
Prepare presentations and written documents summarizing efforts in Government format</li></ul>
Minimum Qualifications of Computational Data Scientist 
Masters of Science or PhD in Computer Science or Math related discipline and 3+ years of relevant experience. Exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered. Candidates are not required to possess all qualifications; if you possess some of the desired qualifications, please apply.<ul><li>
MS or PhD concentration in machine learning with at least three (3) independent projects including internships and thesis work OR minimum of five (5) years of dedicated experience with machine learning.</li><li>
Practical experience in applying data science to model complex real-world problems.</li><li>
Proficient in using Python and AI/ML models.</li><li>
Experience in communicating results through reports and presentations.</li></ul>
