<div><p>Cargo Agent duties include any one or a combination of duties include the loading and unloading of cargo and mail, aircraft and ground equipment operation, as well as cleaning, service and towing of aircraft and equipment, engaging and disengaging of air-start and ground power units, cargo transfers, cargo warehousing and cargo services including telephone sales, customer information and other cargo office duties. In addition, a CA performs other duties within the normal scope of cargo work and to ensure optimum customer service and maximum effort in achieving departmental goals. This is a union represented position.</p>
<p>
Essential Duties:</p>
<ul><li>Routes inbound and outbound air freight shipments to their destinations.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Receives counter orders from customers and arranges for pickup of freight and delivery to loading platform.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assembles cargo according to destination.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Weighs items and determines cost, using established tariffs.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Direct or participate in cargo loading in order to ensure completeness of load and even distribution of weight.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Itemizes charges, prepares freight bills, accepts payments and issues refunds.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Prepares manifest to accompany shipments.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Adhere to required security procedures and hazardous material handling requirements.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Unloads inbound freight and notifies consignees on arrival of shipments and arranges for delivery to consignees.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Perform operations in conjunction with the loading and unloading of mail.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Able to scan and assemble mail according to destination.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Adhere to required security procedures at Air Cargo and with equipment handling.</li></ul>

Requirements</b></p>
<ul><li>High School diploma or equivalency preferred.</li></ul>
<ul><li>The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects of 75 lbs. maximum weight.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be able to qualify and obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Protection seal.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Possess a valid driver&rsquo;s license, ability to obtain an Airport Motor Vehicle Operating Permit, and the ability to obtain certification to operate forklift trucks for the purpose of loading and unloading freight.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be able to work independently in a fast paced environment and is detail oriented.</li></ul>

 The work of a Warehouse Agent includes the following: loading and unloading of cargo (mail, express, freight, and company material) on and off aircraft; the transporting of cargo between terminals and aircraft; the ramp transfers of cargo where required; the receiving, delivering, and physical handling of freight and company material, export at the designated docks, the completion of forms and messages related to and necessary for the performance of the designated locations of the functions described. May be assigned to perform routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, and facilities with or without powered equipment. May be assigned to assist in monitoring security of facility. Comply with WFS site security procedures for assigned warehouse and other operations. Remain cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors&rsquo; activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistleblower program.

   Responsible for moving air cargo within designated warehouse.
  </li>
  <li>
   Load and unload cargo from pallets and containers.
  </li>
  <li>
   Build up cargo for outbound flights.
  </li>
  <li>
   Break down cargo from import flights.
  </li>
  <li>
   Facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo to and from semitrucks.
  </li>
  <li>
   May operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklift, aircraft pallets and pallet jacks.
  </li>
  <li>
   Check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions and documents as appropriate when accepting or delivering cargo.
  </li>
  <li>
   May transport cargo to and from aircraft driving 3,000 lb. vehicle using depth perception to negotiate vehicle with attached carts through congested area. Read "off-load" sheets to determine destination of cargo.
  </li>
  <li>
   While performing aircraft push-out and/or towing functions, engage in proper specific ground to cockpit communication via hand signals and voice commands, with and without, the assistance of sight or visual aids.
  </li>

   Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with and without, assistance of sight or visual aids.

   HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
  </li>
  <li>
   Must be at least 18 years of age.
  </li>

   Valid driver's license.

   This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), a labor union which requires joining the TWU and paying union dues.**
