BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: Structural and craft work in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining aircraft and aircraft engines in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and manufacturers standards. Work is performed on all facets of the aircraft and includes flight testing of aircraft upon completion of maintenance. Responsibilities may include conducting hourly and calendar inspections, troubleshooting discrepancies, working on aircraft outside and away from the main maintenance base, and working with Pilots while conducting maintenance test flights.
REPRESENTATIVE TASKS:
<ul><li>Conducts inspections of all mechanical parts on airframes, engines, and avionics of both fixed and rotary wing aircraft to ensure aircraft safety.
</li><li>Diagnose &amp; repairs problems with aircraft operations to maximize aircraft availability and air worthiness.
</li><li>Repair turbine and reciprocating engines and their associated accessories to conform to FAA and manufacturer standards.
</li><li>Performs structural repairs to airframe structures.
</li><li>Computes aircraft weight and balance to ensure aircraft remains within specified center of gravity and maintains proper flight characteristics.
</li><li>Flight tests aircraft to ensure repairs and maintenance were correctly performed and to make further calibrations or repairs.
</li><li>Repairs spare parts, components, engines and accessories to ensure ready replacement of non-functional aircraft parts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited airframe and powerplant mechanics school or the equivalent in training and experience.
LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class): Possession of a current aircraft and powerplant license as issued by the FAA.
Preference will be given to those with a minimum of 5 years of helicopter maintenance experience with additional preference being given to those with Bell helicopter experience. Preference will also be given to those who hold a current Inspection Authorization rating and a current driver&rsquo;s license without restrictions.

 Disassemble, repair, rework and complete overhaul of various components such as Tire/Wheel assemblies, Brake systems, landing gear, shock absorbers, arresting gear to include tail hooks and launch bars.

 Rig, adjust, and calibrate aircraft slings and other support equipment for all aircraft platforms.

Essential Functions
<ul>
<li>Perform and assist approved work by their leads within the scheduled shift</li>
<li>Ensure completeness of all assigned work documents and records</li>

<li>Enter completed work into maintenance tracking software systems</li>

<li>Comply with and implement the necessary procedures in the MEL/CDL/NEF Program</li>
<li>Monitor the proper completion of aircraft records (e.g., logbook pages, work cards, non-routines, engineering documents [EOs, EAs, etc.], and other related documents)</li>
<li>Ensure accuracy and completeness of all assigned work documents and records</li>
<li>Make FMIS entries as required</li>
<li>Vol.D Maintain familiarization with the training requirements necessary as defined in the GMM 100: Maintenance Training Program and ensure training is current prior to performing the functions and tasks of this position</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned</li>
<li>Always follow (never deviate from) approved published procedures unless proper deviation is authorized</li>
<li>Additional responsibilities, as follows, by job qualification area: Interior Crew - remove, repair, and reinstall aircraft interiors including seats, galleys, lavatories, sidewalls, ceilings, flooring, etc.</li>

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The A&amp;P Mechanic has ETOPS duties as defined in the ETOPS Policies and Procedures Manual (EPPM). Duties shall include, but are not limited to the following:
<ul>
<li>Perform routine, non-routine and preventative maintenance in accordance with OAI manuals, manufacturers&rsquo; manuals, FAR&rsquo;s and other established procedures to ensure timely release and continued airworthiness of company aircraft</li>
<li>Mechanics will be required to sign for work accomplished including troubleshooting deferred maintenance items, and ensure proper recording of all maintenance tasks on company documents</li>
<li>Mechanics will perform all tasks assigned by Lead Mechanics, Maintenance Control or higher management</li>
<li>Properly tag all repairable components including reason for removal</li>
<li>When exercising authority under RII provisions, Mechanic will be directly responsible to Director of Quality and Engineering</li>
<li>Attend all training courses as assigned by any supervisor</li>
<li>Comply with all company rules, regulations, and procedures set forth in company manuals and policies developed by supervisor</li>
<li>Keep a constant watch for safety, excessive cost of labor duplication, ensure proper and adequate equipment is used, acceptable parts or components are installed and approved hardware or supplies are used</li>
<li>At stations where a Lead Mechanic is available, coordinate all troubleshooting work requests and part requirements with Lead Mechanic(s), otherwise coordinate with Maintenance Control</li>
<li>Coordinate with Maintenance Control or Lead Mechanics to meet incoming aircraft, review logbook for discrepancies, and plan any corrective action needed</li>
<li>The Mechanic will be responsible for keeping the work area clean (including airport ramps) and may be required to maintain or repair company property from time to time</li>
<li>When onboard company aircraft, Mechanics are representing the Maintenance Department, and thereby dress appropriately and present a professional attitude</li>
<li>Perform duties significant to the Lower Minimums Maintenance Program (LMP) as specified in GMM Chapter 12</li>
<li>Maintain an insurable driving record under Omni insurance driving guidelines</li>
<li>Performs other duties as specified by Director of Maintenance</li></ul> 


QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>Must be willing to work 10-12-hour shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays</li>
<li>Position may involve some travel</li>

<li>Valid A&amp;P License</li>
<li>Minimum of 3 years line maintenance experience on a B767/777 preferred</li>
