The CH-47 Aircraft Mechanic performs maintenance, removal, installation, replacement of, scheduled/unscheduled inspections, and operational checks on aircraft systems, subsystems, and major components.</div>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Remove, inspect, troubleshoot and install aircraft system and subsystem components and subcomponents to include, but not limited to, engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, flight controls, and hydraulics.</li><li>
Performs schedule/unscheduled maintenance activities to include PMS, servicing and lubrication, and MOC/MTF support functions.
</li><li>Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools/test equipment, and Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (AGSE) and Peculiar Ground Support Equipment (PGSE).
</li><li>Prepares, reviews, and updates aircraft maintenance forms and records.
</li><li>Uses common measuring tools, measuring gages, and alignment fixtures.
</li><li>Applies corrosion preventative procedures. Cleans, preserves, and stores power train and rotor components.
</li><li>Uses and performs operator maintenance on ground support equipment, common and special tools.
</li><li>Maintains facilities for storage of returnable and hazardous materials.
</li><li>Requisitions and maintains shop and bench stock for repair of CH-47 systems and subsystems.
</li><li>Prepares requests for turn-in and repair parts for components.</li><li>
Uses common measuring tools necessary for performing the tasks described herein, precision measuring tools and alignment fixtures.
</li><li>Ensures that aircraft maintenance activities and procedures among designated organizations are planned, coordinated, integrated, and synchronized to achieve established platform operational readiness (OR) rates IAW contractual requirements.
</li><li>Responsible for the compliance with established maintenance systems, processes, procedures and reports that provide immediate situational awareness of platform OR rates.
</li><li>Oversees the daily maintenance management of individually assigned aircraft in support of the Maintenance Lead, in conjunction with Aviation Logistics for related platform parts and spares.
</li><li>Works within the maintenance quality control processes, procedures, and standards.
</li><li>Directs inquires, investigations, and research analysis related to powertrain maintenance of the aircraft and supporting maintenance activities to the Maintenance Lead.
</li><li>Coordinates activities and requirements for maintenance operations support with the Maintenance Lead.
</li><li>In coordination with the PC and Maintenance Lead, supports the Downed Aircraft Recovery Team (DART) processes and procedures.

</li><li>Provides On-the-Job Training (OJT), coaching, and mentoring to RSLFAC personnel in all aspects of aircraft powertrain tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:
<ul><li>Four (4) years&rsquo; experience and two (2) within the last four (4) years as an aircraft mechanic on CH-47 series aircraft.</li><li>
Successfully completed and be qualified by the appropriate U.S. Government armed forces CH-47 aircraft mechanic maintenance course or civilian equivalent training.</li><li>
Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms or similar aviation maintenance management system, and other aircraft related documentation.</li><li>
Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.</li><li>
Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.</li><li>

Repair and replace aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and associated equipment.</li>

Read and interpret manufacturers and maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.</li>
<li>
Examine engines for oil leaks and listens to operating engine to detect and diagnose malfunctions. Inspect turbine blades to detect cracks or breaks.</li>
<li>
Test engine operation, using troubleshooting procedures and diagnostic test equipment, to identify source of malfunction.</li>

Replace or repair worn or damaged components using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment. Remove and install engine from aircraft.</li>
<li>
Disassemble and inspect parts for wear, warping, or other defects.</li>
<li>
Repair or replace defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft.</li>

Perform miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.</li>

May service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.</li>

Knowledge of aircraft sub-systems, including maintenance parameter, systems operation, limitations, and technical orders.</li>

Ability to become qualified and perform engine runs for the aircraft type they are assigned to support.</li>

Minimum Requirements<ul>

High school diploma or GED equivalent is Required.</li>
<li>
A valid (FAA) A&amp;P Certificate is Required.</li>
<li>
Seven (7) years&rsquo; experience as an (A&amp;P) mechanic with Seven (7) years of specific C-12/King Air (200/350/1900) Turbo-prop aircraft mechanic hands-on maintenance experience is Required.</li>
<li>
Completion of formal maintenance training on the assigned C-12/King Air aircraft, qualified by the appropriate USG armed forces aircraft mechanic maintenance course or civilian equivalent training is desired.</li>
<li>
Recent full-time experience in aviation maintenance, on the C-12/King Air Turbo-prop aircraft during the past 12 months is Required.</li>
<li>
Six (6) months of flight line and overhaul &amp; inspection experience is preferred.</li>
