<div><p>The Airport Communications Center Operator is assigned to the Airport Communications Center (ACC) which is a 24/7 operation and serves as the central communications point for the airport community. ACC Operator job duties include, but are not limited to, monitoring and operating multiple computer systems such as the access control system, CCTV security cameras, two-way radios, mass notification system, etc. Assist in control of daily operations of the airport; assist with ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local airport safety and security regulations; disseminate airport operations information; dispatch personnel during emergencies involving aircraft accidents, bomb threats, civil disturbance, air piracy, structural fires, radiological incidents, natural disasters, fire alarms and personal injuries; monitor security system; monitor fire alarm system; monitor and retrieve weather information; update airport identification access badges and vehicle. Maintains daily dispatch logs and light clerical work. Utilizes NCIC to verify data on warrants/wants for police personnel. Must react quickly and calmly in emergency situations; transmit messages clearly and accurately via telephone and radio.</p></div><br>

<p>Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable experience in operation and maintenance of light to medium motorized equipment including fire apparatus and a minimum of five years fire service experience. Airline ground handling experience desirable.</p>

Current Part 139 Live Burn Certification desirable but not mandatory. <p><b>GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:</b></p>
<p>Serves as centralized communications agent involving Airport and tenant operations, public safety, emergency response, and public information; performs directly related work as required.</p>
<p><b>DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:</b></p>
<p>The principal function of an employee in this class is to maintain a contact point for airport public safety, emergency response and airport personnel and to receive information and dispatch accordingly; to provide accurate information to appropriate administration, operations, law enforcement, and emergency response personnel; and to provide information and assistance to the public. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of the Airport Operations Superintendent or an assigned supervisor. Considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with members of the public, airport and airline personnel, public safety personnel, mutual aid departments (fire and law enforcement), vendors, contractors, and others.
