All testing shall be conducted under the direction of the State of Hawaii, Department of Human Resources Development, Employee Staffing Division.Candidates will be scheduled for the PAT. Candidates who are scheduled must compete in and pass all PAT events. The PAT will be administered on the Island of Oahu ONLY. No exceptions shall be granted. All individuals will be notified by email of the location, date, and time of the test. Any costs associated with travel to or from Oahu shall be the applicant's responsibility.The PAT will consist of two phases over two days: a Swim/Tread Water Test and a Physical Endurance Test. You must pass (qualify) each event in order to proceed to the next. If you fail any test event, there will be no re-takes. You will be ask to leave the testing area. The test events are as follows: 1) 100 Meter Swim - Swim 100 meters in 2 minutes, 15 seconds (2 lengths of the pool). Goggles may be used, however, no fins or snorkels will be allowed.2) Treading Water - Tread water continuously for 2 minutes, immediately after completing the swim event.3) One Mile Run - Candidate will run and complete a one (1) mile course in eight (8) minutes.4) High Rise Simulation - Carry a bundle of 1-1/2 inch fire hose on your shoulder (approximately 50 pounds) up 5-1/2 floors (98 steps) while wearing a standard turnout jacket (Airport Fire Department issue) in 35 seconds.5) Aerial Ladder Climb - Climb up and down an aerial fire ladder extended approximately 35 - 70 feet high at an angle of 75 degrees. While there is no time limit on this event, you must climb smoothly, grasping each rung, and without stopping.6) Fire Attack/Rescue Simulation- Do all of the following in 2 minutes, 30 seconds while wearing a standard turnout jacket: Drag a 2-1/2 inch fire hose 150 feet to the fire scene (distance = 200 feet);Return to the starting point, pick up a bundle of 1-1/2 inch fire hose (approximately 50 pounds) and carry it to the fire scene (distance = 200 feet);Drag a 175 pound bundle from the fire scene (distance = 50 feet);Return to the simulated fire scene and move a 2-1/2 inch charged line (length = 100 feet) forward 6 feet and laterally 25 feet.(3) Interview and Selection. The interview and selection process shall be conducted by the Department of Transportation, Airports Division. Candidates who successfully complete all phases of the PAT, will be referred to the State DOT-AIR, for employment consideration. The DOT-AIR will schedule interviews and conduct the selection and hiring process. Interviews will be conducted on Oahu. The DOT-AIR may select any candidate referred on the eligible list and will notify each person interviewed of their decision. PAT times will be used as part of the selection process if you pass the interview.(4) Suitability Review. The Department of Human Resources Development (DHRD) will review dismissals from employment, separations from military service under other than honorable conditions, and criminal convictions, as they apply to the position of Airport Firefighter Recruit.Any misstatements or omission of material facts, in any part of the application, examination or selection process, shall be cause for disciplinary action including forfeiture of all rights to any employment in the service of the State of Hawaii.(5) Health and Physical Condition Standards. <h5 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:</b></h5>
<p>Performs intermediate protective service work operating fire apparatus in emergency situations and difficult semiskilled and skilled work operating and maintaining automotive and construction equipment and monitoring electrical circuits, runway and taxiway lights and general maintenance of the airport and associated facilities. Direction is provided by the Airport Maintenance Supervisor.</p>
<h5 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS:</b></h5>

<div><ul><li>Operates light and heavy-duty fire apparatus.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Responds to crash, fire, rescue and medical emergencies on and around the airport.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Participates in Federal Aviation Administration and Department of Defense required firefighter training.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Inspects airfield for wildlife hazards and takes appropriate wildlife hazard management actions.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Inspects airfield for safety and security issues.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Troubleshoots and repairs minor electrical lighting problems on airfield.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Operates all types of mowers to maintain neat appearance of airfield.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Performs preventive maintenance and makes necessary repairs to airfield facilities</li></ul>
<ul><li>Performs preventative maintenance and makes necessary minor repairs to airport vehicles and equipment.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Troubleshoots and repairs electric and manual gates.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Performs airport preventive maintenance such as sealing cracks, filling potholes, painting lines, etc.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Performs airport facility safety and maintenance inspections.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assists in airfield snow removal and ice control operating light and heavy-duty snow removal equipment.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assist with airline ground handling operations (baggage loading/unloading, etc.)</li></ul>
<ul><li>Performs related tasks as required.</li></ul>
</div><h5 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</b></h5>
<p>Through knowledge of the principles and practices of operating light to medium construction and snow removal, equipment; thorough knowledge of the traffic laws and regulations governing equipment operation; thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and the safety precautions necessary to the proper operation of varied construction and maintenance equipment; some knowledge of the standard techniques and practices of high voltage (480volt) electrical wiring, some knowledge of FAA airfield lighting specifications; some knowledge of airport radio procedures; some knowledge of applicable safety precautions of the trade; ability to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions; ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and thorough knowledge of Aircraft Rescue Firefighting and associated equipment operations. Ability to be flexible in work schedule and work holidays and weekends as required.</p>
<h5 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</b></h5>
<p>Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable experience in operation and maintenance of light to medium motorized equipment including fire apparatus and a minimum of five years fire service experience. Airline ground handling experience desirable.</p>
<h5 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</b></h5>
<p>This is heavy work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for depth perception, color perception, night vision, peripheral vision, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, use of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts at or within arm&rsquo;s length, operation of machines, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, operation of emergency vehicles, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions, oils, and wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus. The worker may be exposed to blood borne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment.</p>
<h5 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:</b></h5>
<p>Possession of an appropriate valid Class B Commercial Driver&rsquo;s License (Maryland or other State equivalent). Possession of Firefighter II, Maryland Emergency Medical Technician, Emergency Vehicle Operators Course, Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute (or equivalent) Pump Operators course, Hazardous Materials Operations and Airfield Rescue Firefighting certifications. Current Part 139 Live Burn Certification desirable but not mandatory. Applicant will be subject to a full criminal background investigation to include fingerprinting and Random Drug &amp; Alcohol Testing.</p>

Centerra is seeking a Full Time Firefighter / FEO at the Alexandria International Airport / England Airpark in Alexandria, Louisiana location.

</p><p>The fire department provides emergency and non-emergency services including but not limited to ARFF, Structural, EMS (non-transporting), Hazardous Material Response, Inspections, and Fire Prevention Programs for employees, tenants, residents, and visitors of the Airpark.</p><br>

<p> <b>QUALIFICATIONS</b></p>

<li>Must be a US Citizen</li>
<li>Must possess a GED or High School Diploma</li>
<li>Must possess and maintain a valid driver license and driving history acceptable to the customer</li>
<li>Complete and maintain an extensive criminal/background check acceptable to the Company, FAA, and customer</li>
<li>Must obtain NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 within six (6) months of hire</li>
<li>Must obtain AHA CPR (Professional Rescuer Level) within two (2) months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment.</li>
<li>Must have IFSAC Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, and Firefighter I at time of hire</li>
<li>Must obtain IFSAC Firefighter II certification within six (6) months of hire (maximum of two attempts at written exam)</li>
<li>Must obtain LABEMS Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) or higher certification within six (6) months of appointment and maintain certification throughout employment.</li>
<li>Must satisfactory complete the AEX FAA ARFF Firefighter (40 hour) and Safety Area Movement (SAM) programs within ninety (90) days of hire.</li>
<li>Must satisfactory complete the inhouse new driver program within ninety (90) days.</li>
<li>Must satisfactory complete the New Employee Orientation Program (NEOP) prior to being assigned to a shift.</li>
<li>Must obtain all required qualifications of Firefighter/Driver Operator and obtain licensing in all fire apparatus/emergency vehicles including engines, ARFF trucks, support vehicles, and trailers within eighteen (12) months of hire</li>
