Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Work cross‑functionally with Category, Finance, Supply Chain and BI teams to deliver actionable insights.</li>

The Ideal Candidate:
<ul><li>Experience: Minimum 3+ years in data, commercial, analytics or pricing roles</li>
<li>Background in PE firms, Retail and/or Food/CPG suppliers.</li>
<li>Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Maths, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or related quantitative fields would be advantageous</li>

About the role
A cross-team function that owns how analytics and BI work is done: the practice, quality, and enablement layer that sits across domain teams. Teams continue to own execution and delivery. This role owns the standards, governance, and community support that make that execution consistent and scalable.
This is a player-coach role: it leads the Analytics Excellence Guild and the broader analytics community without formal direct reports. 
What you'll do 
 
BI Practice &amp; Standards<ul><li>
Design and continuously improve the governance model for BI infrastructure (Power BI, Tableau, AI agents), set best practice for contribution and reporting: dashboard style guide, standard templates, quality expectations, delivery recommendations, documentation rules.</li><li>
Drive adoption of these standards across Data &amp; BI and the broader analytics community.</li></ul>
Enablement &amp; Certification<ul><li>
Design and continuously improve the education and certification programme for data users (training materials, documented process).</li><li>
Establish and facilitate formats for community engagement (office hours, meetups, workshops) and provide structured mentorship to analytics engineers, analysts and advanced business users.</li><li>
Continuously improve practice for community management, e.g. automation for data product promotion, feedback collection, community engagement metrics, user activity driven.</li></ul>
Technical Leadership<ul><li>
Review critical designs, Tier-1 data products, and high-usage dashboards and AI agents; advise or execute improvements.</li><li>
Tackle highly complex, cross-team analytics engineering challenges directly. Develop cross-domain reusable data products: dashboards, marts and pipelines serving multiple teams/departments.</li><li>
Surface systemic problems in data quality, tooling, and developer experience and drive their resolution. Seek innovation and continuous improvement of practice.</li></ul>

What you'll bring 
Community &amp; Enablement Leadership (core to this role)<ul><li>
Demonstrated success building and sustaining a technical community, guild, or practice, running formats like office hours, workshops, or mentorship that people actually engage with.</li><li>
Experience designing enablement or certification programmes: training materials, documented processes, and a credible path for ramping up data literacy across varied skill levels.</li><li>
A facilitator's instinct: able to drive adoption, build consensus, and mentor across teams through influence rather than authority.</li><li>
Strong written and verbal communication; able to produce guidance and training material that lands with both engineers and business users.</li></ul>
BI Governance &amp; Standards<ul><li>
Deep, hands-on expertise with at least one major BI platform (Power BI and/or Tableau), including what separates a well-built, maintainable dashboard from a fragile one.</li><li>
Proven ability to translate good practice into durable, adoptable standards: style guides, templates, quality criteria, documentation rules.</li><li>
Comfort defining governance and guardrails that scale across teams without becoming bottlenecks.</li><li>
Familiarity with emerging AI/agent-based analytics tooling and a pragmatic view of how to govern it.</li></ul>
Technical Depth<ul><li>
7&ndash;10 years in analytics engineering, BI, or data roles, with a track record as a strong generalist across the modern data stack.</li><li>
Hands-on capability with dbt and a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred), sufficient to build cross-domain reusable data products and review Tier-1 work credibly.</li><li>
Ability to diagnose systemic issues in data quality, tooling, and developer experience and drive them to resolution.</li></ul>

Engineering Manager &ndash; Data &amp; Analytics

As Engineering Manager for our Data &amp; Analytics team, you will lead a team of 4-5 engineers while staying meaningfully hands-on as a technical player-coach. This is not a traditional management role. You are someone with a strong and senior data engineering background who genuinely wants to step into management. You will own the team's delivery, drive stakeholder alignment, and bring the technical depth needed to develop your team and keep us on the right track.

You will work closely with the Director of Engineering and product stakeholders, on sequencing, prioritization, and roadmap negotiation &mdash; with enough technical grounding to make sound decisions and mentor engineers day to day.
