Essential Functions &amp; Work Environment</b></div><div>
This role is primarily performed in a <b>Pet Care Center retail environment</b>. The Companion Animal Supervisor is expected to be regularly present on the sales floor, leading by example and engaging with partners, customers, and pets.</div><ul><li>
Majority of work is conducted indoors; however, occasional duties may require leaving the Pet Care Center for tasks such as bank deposits, merchandise transport, or community events.</li><li>
The role requires frequent standing and walking, as well as bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting.</li><li>
Ability to safely lift and move merchandise, supplies, or animals weighing up to 50 pounds.</li><li>
Regular engagement with customers on the sales floor, including providing customer assistance and performing cashiering and point-of-sale transactions.</li><li>

Mercer University School of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified Animal Caretaker/Laboratory Assistant on the Columbus, GA campus.<p></p><p><b><br>
Responsibilities</b>:</p><p>
The Animal Caretaker and Laboratory Assistant (ACLA) provides daily care for laboratory animals and maintains animal care facilities at the Mercer University School of Medicine according to USDA, PHS, and OLAW standards. Under direct supervision, the ACLA will carry out duties in the research laboratories to include oversight of laboratory coats and animal care uniforms. The ACLA works closely with the other animal care staff, but not in a supervised capacity.</p><p></p><p><b>
Qualifications</b>:</p><p>
A high school diploma or GED is required. Prior animal care experience is preferred.</p><p></p><p><b>
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Must be able to learn and apply basic principles and practices of laboratory animal care and facility maintenance.</p></li><li><p>
Must be able to keep written records of animal health, daily tasks, and facility conditions.</p></li><li><p>
Must be able to use e-mail.</p></li><li><p>
