 The United States District Court, District of Arizona is seeking a IT Support Technician I position, located in the Tucson Office. This position is part of the consolidated Systems Technology Division and reports to the Systems Supervisor. The IT Support Technician I provides end-user support, technical assistance, and routine systems maintenance for court unit staff.  The successful applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalent; have one year of specialized experience. Specialized experience is defined as Progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience requiring the regular and recurring application of clerical procedures that demonstrate the ability to apply a body of rules, regulations, directives, or laws and involve the routine use of specialized terminology and automated software and equipment for word processing, data entry or report generation.
 
 
 
 Preferred Qualifications
 
 
 
 Preference will be given to candidates with strong experience delivering high quality end user and automation support to a large user population in a fast paced, technically diverse environment. Candidates should possess a solid working knowledge of PC hardware, software, and Windows desktop operating systems in a networked Microsoft Active Directory environment. Experience configuring, installing, and supporting desktop, laptop, and tablet computers, as well as related peripheral devices and mobile computing devices (particularly Apple iOS devices), is highly preferred.
 
 
 Additionally, experience providing end user support for Microsoft Office enterprise products&mdash;including Outlook/Exchange email, Office Professional, Microsoft Teams, and Office 365 applications such as OneDrive and OneNote&mdash;is desirable. Experience supporting voice and video telecommunications technologies, such as VoIP systems and IP connected video teleconferencing hardware, is helpful, as is experience supporting audio/visual technologies.
 
 
 Preference will also be given to candidates whose work history demonstrates strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills; the ability to work cooperatively with clients, team members, and managers; the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; and the ability to see assigned projects through to completion. Ticket Creation and Handling: Receive calls made to a single phone number (provided by the government), via email, via fax or contacting on-site support personnel. Future possibilities include the use of a self-service portal, live chat and texting.
Accept all methods of contact and respond in a manner that meets the applicable SLA.
In addition to creating tickets in response to User requests, support tickets created in response to automated alerts and outage/Incident information received from external and internal organizations, such as server support groups, external WAN providers, application support groups, and other government-authorized organizations.
Associate all Incident Tickets associated with a Problem Ticket via the parent-child relationship in the lTSM.
Support-Incident Management: Provide impact- and priority- based Incident categorization in order to track progress of all incidents and restore degraded or disrupted services as quickly as possible:
Escalate tickets based on expertise and appropriate group membership
Answer customer telephone calls and emails to the SD in accordance with the applicable SLAs during Normal Working Hours
Monitor voicemails and emails left for the SD
Log Incidents and Service Requests into the ITSM.
Ensure that all Incidents are promptly and accurately documented in ITSM so that up-to-date information is available at all times. Track Incident from first report to remediation
Perform initial diagnosis and analysis of Incidents and provide immediate resolution and recovery if possible.
Use remote control tools to assist and resolve customer Incidents as initial resolution, providing warm handoff escalation of Incidents that cannot be immediately resolved
Escalate tickets as required by the applicable Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Communicate system outages in accordance with established standardized operating procedures (SOP) to appropriate government points of contacts and Users using government-provided tools and communication methods and continue ongoing communications until the Incident has been resolved and all services have been restored
Follow-up on resolved Incidents to check quality, get customer concurrence of incident closure, and to report customer satisfaction
Work with Operational and other teams to ensure final summary and review. analysis, resolution, and lessons learned are documented in Incident Reports for all major Incidents and unplanned service outages, and submitted in writing to government management
Establish (or update existing ones) and maintain data in the Known Error Database (KEDB); document workarounds and generate known error sub-processes to facilitate quicker diagnosis and resolution for future Incidents
Proactively monitor Automated Call Distribution (ACD) calls, Incidents and Service Request workflows, processes and queues to immediately identify and address performance issues that will impact the delivery of services to Users
Ensure non-IT requests are properly routed to appropriate support organizations.
Initial Telephone Call Handling: Provide live telephone support during Normal Working Hours. Accept Users' requests for service, record the request, and attempt resolution. If the agent handling the request cannot resolve the issue, escalate the ticket to the appropriate personnel:
Provide live telephone coverage during NWH of service via the call distribution system
Answer calls in the order they are received in accordance with applicable SLAs
Greet the customer
Verify or update User's contact information
Identify the nature of the Incident and correctly classify it

This role requires strong technical capabilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle a wide range of technical issues. The Technician will also be responsible for ensuring kiosk coverage and operational readiness throughout working hours.

This role will require onsite work in Chicago, IL.

Key Responsibilities:

Walk-Up / Kiosk Operation:
<ul>
<li>Staff walk-up kiosks with trained analysts to provide support coverage from 7 AM to 6 PM local time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays and need to be available for shifts during those hours.</li>
<li>Deliver onsite support for the following:
<ul><li>Conventional devices (e.g., laptops, desktops, peripherals) and audio-visual systems.</li>
<li>Troubleshooting and resolution of hardware and software issues for walk-up customers.</li>
<li>Addressing performance issues with devices used in training and conference rooms.</li>
</ul></li></ul>Facilities and Infrastructure Support:
<ul>
<li>Ensure proper workspace for walk-up kiosks, including:
<ul><li>Provision of desks, bench space, telephony, network access, and power facilities.</li>
<li>Maintenance of physical security policies to safeguard equipment.</li>
</ul></li></ul>Customer Engagement:
<ul>
<li>Interact with users in a polite, professional, and customer-focused manner to address their IT-related concerns.</li>
<li>Display a service-oriented attitude, keeping users informed about progress and timelines for issue resolution.</li>
</ul>
Problem Solving and Technical Activities:
<ul>
<li>Provide logical troubleshooting services to diagnose and address technical incidents effectively.</li>
<li>Escalate unresolved or complex issues to higher-tier support teams as needed.</li>
<li>Perform self-warranty hardware repairs when authorized and within capability, ensuring cost-effective solutions.</li>
</ul>
Other Obligations:
<ul>
<li>Contribute to the development and enforcement of internal processes that promote kiosk efficiency and customer satisfaction.</li>
<li>Support and maintain the operational readiness of kiosks, including equipment inventories and updates.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:<ul><li>
AA Degree in related discipline and six (6) years or more of related experience; Additional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.</li><li>
Minimum 2 years of experience in End User Support or a related field.</li><li>
Proven technical expertise and hands-on experience supporting hardware/software and audio-visual systems.</li><li>
Strong customer service background with effective verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>
Familiarity with professional environments and ability to deliver high-level support, including to VIP customers when required.</li><li>
Capability for basic repairs and technical problem-solving with attention to detail.</li><li>
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.</li></ul>
Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.</div>
