Job Summary:</b></p><p>
The Senior Attorney in the Asylum Project will be assigned to the Immigration Court Helpdesk (ICH), supporting pro se noncitizens at the Chicago Immigration Court. In collaboration with the team, they will lead NIJC's response to the growing demand for asylum services through ICH, supervise staff, and assist asylum seekers. Responsibilities include conducting general and individual information sessions, self-help workshops, pro bono referrals, and occasionally appearing as a Friend of the Court. The role also involves non-ICH work, including direct representation in complex asylum cases and providing technical support to NIJC staff and pro bono counsel. The Senior Attorney advocates for clients in complex cases before administrative and service agencies as needed.</p><p><b><br>

</ul><ul><li>Create and implement an on-boarding plan for newly hired department associates.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, progress, and updates to keep all team members informed.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Identify and monitor department culture so that it promotes employee satisfaction.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and set development plans (if applicable) for direct reports.</li>
<li>Provide support to associates in the handling of human resource related activities which may include associate questions or concerns, communication and the interpretation of policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Available on-call and provide on-site support as needed, 24/7.</li>

<p><b>Education Requirements:</b></p>

<li>Minimum of 3 years of management experience in a senior living, healthcare, or long-term care environment.</li>
<li>Administrator Certification/License as required by state law (may vary by location).</li>
<li>Prior experience in staff recruitment, training, and development is strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Strong background in budgeting, financial management, and compliance within a healthcare or senior living setting.</li>
<li>Ability to relate in a professional and positive manner with all team members, residents, families, and vendors.</li>

Our providers are compensated based on the percentage of the revenue they generate. This means the more patients you see and the larger your caseload, the greater your earning potential. The pay range provided is based on working approximately one week per month (four days) and may increase with additional weekly visits.
