OSI Optoelectronics is currently seeking an Assembler. This individual will read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble parts and/or products. They will also follow methods and sequence of operations in performing component installation, hand soldering, and cap welding on assembly units. Additionally, they will use thinking and reasoning to solve problems and/or recommend updates on department procedures and manufacturing process.</div>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Prepare/ clean material and product for in-process and/or final assembly.</li><li>
Complex die attach using automatic/ semi-automatic equipment per customer requirements on traveler and drawings.</li><li>
Complex encapsulation using epoxy per customer requirements on traveler and drawings.</li><li>
Operate assembly equipment, to complete complex assemblies, using: pick-and-place, laser marker, ink pad printer, wire bonding, soldering iron, etc.</li><li>

Qualifications:

The pay range above represents annual base salary only. The <b>Assembler/Welder</b> supports the fabrication and assembly of enclosure components by performing basic welding, fit‑up, and mechanical assembly tasks under supervision. This entry‑level role (0&ndash;3 years&rsquo; experience) focuses on developing foundational welding and assembly skills, following work instructions, and contributing to safe and efficient production of enclosure frames, panels, and subassemblies.</div><p><b>
Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>
Assist with structural welding on enclosure components following drawings and trained procedures.</li><li>
Perform basic mechanical assembly, including fitting panels, installing hardware, and prepping components for welding or final assembly.</li><li>
Read and follow blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine weld and assembly requirements.</li><li>
Support material movement and positioning using overhead cranes or rigging (training provided as needed).</li><li>
Conduct visual weld checks, report defects, and assist with rework under guidance.</li><li>
Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all PPE requirements, including respirators when required for certain materials.</li><li>
Assist in setup and teardown of welding/assembly workstations.</li><li>
Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain workflow.</li></ul>
Specific Qualifications:

0&ndash;3 years experience in welding, fabrication, or mechanical assembly.</li><li>
Basic proficiency with MIG welding; exposure to TIG or Stick is a plus.</li><li>
Ability to read a tape measure accurately.</li><li>
Entry-level ability to read and interpret drawings; training provided to build blueprint proficiency.</li><li>
Ability to follow safety procedures and use PPE, including respirators when required.</li><li>
Strong teamwork, reliability, and willingness to learn.</li><li>
Welding certifications (e.g., AWS/ASME) or technical school coursework is preferred.</li><li>
Familiarity with cranes or rigging; employer-provided training available.</li></ul><p><b>
Physical Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>
Lift and maneuver heavy materials; operate tools and equipment as trained.</li><li>
Stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods during welding and assembly tasks.</li><li>
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions with exposure to fumes (with proper respiratory protection).</li></ul>
