Under the direct supervision of the Asset Protection Area Manager (APAM) the role of the Asset Protection Agent (APA) is to ensure the safety of our customers and associates along with the protection of company assets. The APA is the first and last impression of the WSS brand and must be helpful and courteous to our customers. To be effective at this job, APA should be detail-oriented team players with strong leadership and decision-making skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
<ul><li>Monitor sales floor by providing Extreme Customer Service (ECS) and using CCTV as needed to identify suspicious behavior.
</li><li>Handle emergency/crisis incidents while ensuring the safety and security of all store team members and customers.
</li><li>Conduct regular foot patrols and surveillance of the sales floor.
</li><li>Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a visible security presence.
</li><li>When able, assist with customer service and direct customers to the appropriate department and/or team members.
</li><li>Document &amp; report all theft incidents or situations where law enforcement has been called to respective APAM.
</li><li>Must be willing and able to testify in court and cooperate in police investigations.
</li><li>Inventory Management; Conduct Cycle Counts to identify potential shrink/losses and report Shrink Related losses daily/weekly as required.
</li><li>Recovery of Merchandise (RECOM) to avoid shrink related losses (When safe to do so and within company policy)

Asset Protection - Agent - Stephanie Street Center Rack

<div>The Asset Protection (AP) team's function is to keep our customers, teams and brands safe. AP partners with the store Emergency Response Team (ERT) to prepare for, respond to, and recover from a variety of emergencies. AP also protects company profits by mitigating shrinkage risks, as well as preventing, investigating, and resolving theft, to ensure merchandise is available for our customers.
Asset Protection&rsquo;s strategies are driven by our three Asset Protection Pillars:<ul><li>
Protect People by providing support for employee and customer safety.</li><li>
Protect Physical Spaces by protecting our assets which include both building and merchandise.</li><li>
Support Product Accuracy through store partnership working towards improved inventory accuracy and reduction of shrinkage.</li></ul>
When working in Asset Protection, no two days will be the same, however a typical day in the life of an Asset Protection Agent will likely include the following responsibilities:<ul><li>
Resolve theft by using good judgment and conduct quality apprehensions in high shrinkage areas while strictly adhering to policy, procedures, and AP leadership guidance.</li><li>
Identify theft trends by leveraging technology, reporting and surveillance tactics.</li><li>
Drive a shrinkage reduction culture by implementing action plans and merchandise protection standards.</li><li>
Identify, escalate, and support internal theft investigations through various methods including, but not limited to, exception-based reporting and surveillance systems.</li><li>
Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and partnering with AP Leadership and Investigation teams.</li><li>
Use video systems to monitor theft activity and support investigations.</li><li>
Leverage RFID data to view merchandise movement at the highest level and aid item level investigations with merchandise inaccuracies.</li><li>
Maintain the general safety and security of customers, employees, and store by responding to, escalating, and reporting all store security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies.</li><li>
Support the security of our physical spaces and those within by leading security audits, participating in store meetings, and leading shrinkage awareness efforts and training within the store.</li><li>
Serve as a member of the store Emergency Response Team (ERT) and actively participate in store emergency response training, including First Aid.</li><li>
Prepare and submit prompt and complete reports for all high-profile incidents, merchandise recoveries, investigations, policy violations, safety incidents and other illegal activities, etc.</li><li>
Testify in court when summoned for criminal and/or civil cases.</li><li>
Build cross functional partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement.</li></ul>

The Asset Protection Manager drives store shortage reduction, safety, and profitability improvement by developing and executing asset protection action plans. This role drives process improvement and ensures effective compliance of strategies, procedures, and policies. The Asset Protection Manager embodies the values of the Asset Protection Mission Statement by protecting the company's profitability, serving as a change agent, and promoting a store culture of teamwork, collaboration, trust, and accountability. This is an exempt position, with monthly bonus eligibility.
 
What you will do
 Demonstrate a high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative in achieving store objectives and driving the accomplishment of key metrics, sales, and profit goals.
 Drive proactive shortage reduction and improve profitability by identifying and preventing incidents of theft, fraud, and dishonesty and leading accurate inventory execution. Manage store education, understanding, adoption, and compliance of company policies and procedures.
 Oversee investigations of internal, external, and organized retail crime incidents in accordance with case procedures, company standards, and applicable laws. Ensure apprehensions follow proper protocol and incidents are accurately documented and reported. Foster strong working relationships with local law enforcement to support collaboration and successful case resolution.
 Lead team in providing a safe and healthy environment for associates and customers through implementation of safety and risk management processes and procedures. Ensure store systems are working properly and promptly report any outages, risks, or safety concerns.
 Reinforce team application of asset protection, emergency response, and safety programs by regularly reviewing associate performance, conducting meaningful coaching conversations, and embracing opportunities to continuously teach and develop.
 Set clear team priorities and communicate expectations, modeling behaviors that support store results and company objectives.
 Participate in weekly leadership workload planning meetings to ensure asset protection, safety, and inventory tasks are prepped, planned, and scheduled, while ensuring the execution plan aligns with company priorities and processes.
 Maintain confidentiality, safeguard sensitive information, and demonstrate composure, understanding the importance to business continuity and investigations.
 Facilitate team career development conversations to ensure ready-now bench of store talent. Champion retention and engagement through recognizing associate value and contributions.
 Ensure hiring strategy is in place to fill open positions timely through recruitment and interviewing. Oversee structured onboarding completion to ensure associate readiness in delivering operational and asset protection excellence.
