<p><b>A Day In The Life</b></p>
<ul><li>Perform and supervise patrols and strategic monitoring of the store to create a visible security presence to customers and associates.</li>
<li>Assist in the recruitment and training of new Shortage Control Associates.</li>
<li>Stay up to date on all company Safety and Security standards and protocols.</li>
<li>Investigate incidents of theft as directed by Asset Protection Manager.</li>
<li>Detect, report and resolve matters relating to safety, inventory shortage, cash handling and theft, and providing customer service as per company standards.</li>
<li>Supervise and conduct safety inspections and audits, provide accurate documentation of results and communicate all potential or existing hazards to key holder on duty.</li>
<li>Ensure physical security by controlling access of associates and visitors.</li>
<li>Monitor CCTV, if applicable.</li>
<li>Represent Burlington in court proceedings associated with Asset Protection apprehensions and investigations if/when necessary.</li>

The primary purpose of this role is to assist the asset protection manager in performing his/her functions. Performing AP and Safety-related activities to support The Home Depot's business objectives, such as but not limited to minimizing shrink, risk and safety incidents, providing on boarding to AP programs, OSHA standards and investigations, training, coaching and response to potentially volatile situations requiring quick, effective decisions and conducting investigations. This includes responsibility for data integrity and tracking of various performance metrics across AP duties. The role has experience in asset protection, safety, merchandise auditing compliance, hazmat, OSHA standards, and investigations to ensure The Home Depot maintains a safe, a safe work culture by providing support to the asset protection manager and facility leadership team, in assigned building, related to improving shrink, safety, expenses and liability.</p><b><br>
Key Responsibilities:</b><ul><li>
40% Compliance:
</li><li>Assist DC Asset Protection Manager with conducting monthly audit cadence that provides insight into shrink risk, overall safety compliance, merchandise accuracy audit completion, and regulatory compliance.</li><li>
Assist DC Asset Protection manager with regulatory investigations such as OSHA, EPA, state and federal agencies.</li><li>
Leverage contracted site guard supervisors, and ensure all electronic security systems are in good working order at all times.</li><li>
The overall audit process(s) will highlight operational deficiencies and will lead to the development of a dynamic game plan that will correct or mitigate exposures identified within the scope of the audits.</li><li>
30% Safety:
</li><li>Review weekly incident reporting and review trends with leadership team</li><li>
Participate in onsite meetings with regulatory agencies and follow company SOP's as it relates to interacting with such agencies.</li><li>
Maintain compliance with all Supply Chain security measures that will include but not limited to a seal compliance and testing program, maintaining a strong physical security presence.</li><li>
Leads auditors in daily operations; monitors to ensure a high degree of accuracy in the shipping of product, safety, recording auditing errors, and reviewing errors with facility leadership.</li><li>
Participate in all safety incident investigations to help drive additional training and accountability.</li><li>
If needed, assist APM with creating new processes that prevent safety incidents from occurring.</li><li>
15% Accuracy:
</li><li>Responsible for the training, coaching and feedback of auditors and performs regular evaluations of associates through factual data and subjective observations.</li><li>
15% Shrink:
</li><li>Assist DC Asset Protection Manager with the Company's internal and external theft program. Identify and process temporary labor and external visitors who commit theft. Maximize merchandise recoveries.</li><li>

Purpose and Scope of Assignment:
<br>
The Protection Associate will support the Protection Unit in the implementation of core protection functions, including individual case interventions, protection monitoring, data and information analysis, and drafting of guidance notes. The incumbent will contribute to the Unit&rsquo;s efforts to standardize and enhance the quality of protection responses, including those delivered by UNHCR partners.
<br>
S/he will be part of the team engaged in case processing and protection interventions, providing technical guidance to partners on individual cases and coordinating closely with technical and field units as well as public institutions.
<br>
<br>
The incumbent will also support the Unit&rsquo;s work in child protection, gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response, and other specific protection interventions. S/he will contribute to the continuous improvement of case processing mechanisms, oversee the quality and compliance of protection responses implemented by partners, and provide internal reporting on identified gaps and areas requiring improvement.

As part of a team reviewing protection interventions, the incumbent will ensure compliance with applicable protection standards and procedures. The role requires close liaison with field units, partners, and relevant stakeholders to ensure that all steps in individual case processing are completed, referrals and protection interventions are carried out effectively, and appropriate follow-up is conducted to ensure resolution of cases.

The Protection Associate will contribute to evidence-based protection planning by consolidating and analysing thematic and operational data, including data related to persons with specific needs and other risk profiles. The position requires prior experience in contributing to protection monitoring frameworks and drafting analytical inputs for reporting, as well as a strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation (M&amp;E) principles to support results- and impact-based reporting and performance tracking. The incumbent will require to support the preparation and review of protection reports, analytical briefs, strategy documents, internal guidance and tools aimed at strengthening coordination and informed decision-making at country level.

Will ensure safety training, awareness programs, safety committees, and accident prevention programs are implemented in all locations as assigned.</li><li>Assist in the development and supervision of loss prevention / safety staff as assigned, and ensures these individuals are adhering to established loss prevention/safety policies and procedures as outlined in the loss prevention/safety manual.</li><li>Assists in developing and establishing shrink committees and shrink action plans to identify causes of inventory shrink and execute appropriate internal control measures.</li><li>Assists in the management of the physical security programs (CCTV, EAS, Alarms, and key control systems) to ensure strict enforcement of these programs.</li><li>Participate and assist in fiscal year end store inventories to include; inventory preparation, taking, and the reconciliation process and report any irregularities to the Loss Prevention/Safety Manager, General/Store Manager or corporate as warranted</li><li>Possess a thorough understanding and effectively use web-based case management reporting systems and ensure the Loss Prevention / Safety staff is utilizing this software effectively as required.</li><li>Possess a thorough understanding and effectively use all POS exception based reporting tools and ensure the Loss Prevention / Safety staff are properly trained and are utilizing this software effectively in detecting, investigating, and resolving problems.</li><li>Actively participate in personal and professional development of loss prevention/safety associates as assigned by the Loss Prevention/Safety Manager, District Loss Prevention/Safety Manager and/or Director, Loss Prevention/Safety (CONUS/OCONUS). These include in-store/corporate training, industry standard professional training and collegiate courses in retail, business, safety, and loss prevention.</li><li>Develop and ensure strong relationships, partnerships, and communication skills at all levels of the organization to include Corporate, District, Store Operations, as well as other Loss Prevention/Safety Industry professionals.</li><li>Develops strong relationships with command, base, federal, and local law enforcement officials.</li></ul><br>
