Position Purpose:</b><p>
The Asset Protection Specialist is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store/multiple stores. They utilize tools to minimize loss to the Company, including but not limited to identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring the store's physical security, auditing the Electronic Article Surveillance and driving a shrink elimination culture in the store. Other responsibilities include: preparing accurate and detailed case reports documenting your apprehensions and recoveries, preserving evidence, interacting with law enforcement and testifying in criminal and civil court actions. <div><div>As a Warehouse Asset Protection Officer, you&rsquo;ll oversee physical security processes at the distribution center&rsquo;s security desk and secured yard gate house. You&rsquo;ll control access to the building and truck yard for all team members, visitors, contractors and carriers. <p><b>A Day In The Life</b></p>
<ul><li>Perform and supervise patrols and strategic monitoring of the store to create a visible security presence to customers and associates.</li>
<li>Assist in the recruitment and training of new Shortage Control Associates.</li>
<li>Stay up to date on all company Safety and Security standards and protocols.</li>
<li>Investigate incidents of theft as directed by Asset Protection Manager.</li>
<li>Detect, report and resolve matters relating to safety, inventory shortage, cash handling and theft, and providing customer service as per company standards.</li>
<li>Supervise and conduct safety inspections and audits, provide accurate documentation of results and communicate all potential or existing hazards to key holder on duty.</li>
<li>Ensure physical security by controlling access of associates and visitors.</li>
<li>Monitor CCTV, if applicable.</li>
<li>Represent Burlington in court proceedings associated with Asset Protection apprehensions and investigations if/when necessary.</li>
<li>Develop relationships with local law enforcement.</li>
