Position Overview</b><p>
The Athletic Trainer, under the general direction of the Director of Athletics, will develop, coordinate and administer a comprehensive sports medical program for Sauk Valley Community College&rsquo;s intercollegiate sports programs. <div><p><b>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><ul><li>
Provide quality comprehensive care for student-athletes through prevention, evaluation, care and treatment of injuries and illnesses, and assist with injury rehabilitation using established protocols for injury/illness referral, treatment, rehabilitation and return to play.</li><li>
Attend all home athletic contests as required for the purpose of providing training services prior to, during, and after events and games for both the home and visiting teams.</li><li>
Conduct regular office hours, providing services to student-athletes prior to, during and following practices.</li><li>
Ensure that all documentation is complete to ensure compliance with all NJCAA regulations.</li><li>
Manage and arrange (when needed) physicals for student-athletes and teams.</li><li>
Maintain medical records of injuries, treatment and care.</li><li>
Provide a comprehensive Concussion Protocol.</li><li>
Work directly with Sauk Valley Community College&rsquo;s athletic insurance provider.</li><li>
Oversee and maintain athletic training room and equipment.</li><li>
Communicate regularly with athletic/coaching staff regarding care and treatment of injuries.</li><li>
Instruct 1-2 sections of PED 213 (First Aid) per semester or other coursework (credit or non-credit) as assigned, including virtually or remote offerings, as deemed necessary by the administration.</li><li>
Provide coverage for the Sauk Valley Community College Fitness Center.</li><li>
Serve as Home Event Administration at athletic contests when Athletic Director is not present.</li><li>
Involvement in college wellness events, become a member or of the Wellness Committee and participate in any college wellness initiatives.</li><li>
Provide workshops or other initiatives to increase campus support of students (e.g., CPR Training).</li><li>
Aid the coaching staff in the construction and implementation of injury prevention programs.</li><li>
Manage home events including, but not limited to: creating program guides, managing live streams, playing the National Anthem, and facilitating score bench personnel. Set up water and other event specific supplies for home and away events.</li><li>
Assist in scheduling events, reserving rooms, and distributing promotional information throughout the College which includes, but is not limited to event contracts, officials' contracts, and contacting officials prior to contests.</li><li>
Work with the director in hiring, training, assigning, and supervising College work-studies.</li><li>
Assist with maintaining the athletic website.</li><li>
Maintain, update and monitor sport-specific social media accounts.</li><li>
Provide leadership to curriculum development for PED Courses.</li><li>
Provide direct instruction and assessment of student learning for PED Courses.</li><li>
Assume all other reasonable professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.</li></ul><b>

A Clinical Navigator Facility Outreach is an athletic trainer responsible for assisting the KC Monarchs team in providing comprehensive care to athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation. Working closely with the coaching staff, medical professionals, and team management, the AT ensures player health and performance are optimized throughout the season. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of sports medicine, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with travel and nontraditional hours. During the off-season, this position will assist with clinic duties at one of our facilities.</p><p></p><p><br>
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY</p><p></p><p><br>
Baseball Season</p><ul><li>
Implement and direct medical care to players and staff at the affiliates within the scope that is outlined.</li><li>
Implement injury prevention programs at each affiliate in collaboration with the appropriate staff.</li><li>
Communicate progress, issues, plans, etc. for each player to appropriate parties to ensure consistency.</li><li>
Design and implement injury prevention programs tailored to individual athletes and team needs.</li><li>
Conduct on-field injury assessments and provide immediate care during practices, games, and training sessions.</li><li>
Develop and oversee rehabilitation programs to safely return players to full performance levels.</li><li>

<div><div>DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:</div>
