POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Project Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent is directly responsible for coordinating and supervising the assigned on-site construction activities in accordance with project documents, safety and schedule.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS
Schedule<ul><li>
Manage daily production schedules and maintain documentation, field notes, punch-lists, hot list, lessons learned, etc.</li><li>
Assists with the scheduling and coordination of subcontractors and materials.</li><li>
As directed, assist the Project Superintendent in maintaining &amp; updating schedule documents, scheduling inspections, subcontractors, etc.</li><li>
Schedule specifically assigned trades/subs (with oversight from Project Superintendent).</li></ul>
Quality<ul><li>
Supervise specifically assigned construction activities to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design and project commitments while maintaining professionalism, integrity and ethical conduct at all times.</li><li>
Perform frequent and ongoing review of all plans, contract scopes, submittals, RFIs, etc.</li><li>
Take sole ownership and responsibility for your specific assigned duties and ensure quality control. Solely responsible for the quality of your work.</li></ul>
Safety<ul><li>
Enforce safety, clean-up and risk management.</li><li>
Assures OSHA, and all other related safety code compliance.</li><li>
Reports any accidents to the main office immediately and prepares an accident report.</li><li>
Inspects site for safety hazards and notify subcontractors or appropriate authority of violations.</li></ul>
Budget
<ul><li>As directed, assist the Project Superintendent with management of materials purchased by The NRP Group.</li></ul>
Management<ul><li>
Properly schedules, receives, and safely stores materials purchased by The NRP Group.</li><li>
Assist in sequencing of field operations, staging of materials and resources.</li><li>
Help manage the field office, maintain hard files, electronic files and documentation.</li><li>
Manage emails and Outlook folders, hard copy files, etc.</li><li>
As directed, assist the Project Superintendent with managing the private consultant reports and answering to each consultant&rsquo;s list of deficiencies, closing all open items.
</li><li>Work with municipalities and utility providers for service installation and inspections.</li><li>
Write and execute punch lists (as many times as it takes), re-walk the list(s) and verify that 100% of all items have been completed.</li><li>
Communicates with the Project Superintendent daily to discuss the project status and any problems that arise.</li></ul>
SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES
Education:
<ul><li>Graduation from high school, with diploma.
</li><li>Education in construction or related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.</li></ul>
Experience:<ul><li>
Minimum of 2 years of experience managing the construction of multi-family projects with stable employment history and proven track record.
</li><li>Knowledge of site work, utility infrastructure, structural building, mechanical and interior finishes required.</li></ul>
Technical Skills:
<ul><li>Knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>
Effective oral communication and writing skills.
</li><li>Knowledge of construction principles and techniques.
</li><li>Ability to problem solve, forward think and plan ahead.</li></ul>
Driver&rsquo;s License Required: Yes 
Other Requirements:
<ul><li>Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints.
</li><li>First Aid training.</li></ul>

 . The right candidate will assists the Superintendent with the management of the community job site as it relates to home construction while providing excellent customer service. This includes but is not limited to assisting in scheduling and supervising job site subcontractors, maintaining quality standards, cost management, homeowner walk-throughs, inspections, community maintenance and upkeep, and enforcing safety standards.
 
 
 
 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Inspect each home daily to assure the quality of workmanship, ensure all work is in accordance with plans and specifications, determine the status as it compares to the production schedule

 Schedule and walk all inspections with inspectors
 </li>
 <li>
 Walk each completed home before the homeowner walk-through and closing sign-off to ensure the home is complete, clean, and meets standards of quality. Note outstanding homeowner walk-through items and schedule repairs
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct homeowner orientation and any additional walks ensuring homeowner satisfaction
 </li>
 <li>
 Aid Superintendent to ensure subcontractors are managed and continually evaluated on quality, safety, scheduling and cost control measures
 </li>
 <li>
 Enforce the site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with company standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations
 </li>
 <li>
 Enforce DR Horton cleanliness standards &ndash; Ensure communities and jobsites are free of trash &amp; waste materials.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist Superintendent in managing construction materials to help prevent damage, waste, &amp; theft
 </li>
 <li>
 Support the construction schedule and ensure the highest quality product is delivered on time and within budget
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide a superior level of customer service during all phases of construction
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop and maintain positive relations with subcontractors and homeowners
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop knowledge in building codes, construction materials, methodologies, terminology and construction scheduling

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Assists other superintendents in the management of all field activities for construction jobs of various size and complexity. May be independently responsible for small jobs of normal complexity.</li><li>
Helps to ensures the proper performance of all subcontractors in both quality and timeliness of their work.</li><li>
Have an understanding and assist Superintendent with weekly schedule changes.</li><li>
Perform and coordinate all duties in conjunction with the duties of the Project Superintendent.</li><li>
Acquire working knowledge of all project specific plans and specifications.</li><li>
Identify and assist in resolution of all on-site project specific issues in conjunction with the Project Superintendent.</li><li>
Perform the required construction layout responsibilities</li><li>
Supervise Hourigan on-site employees as designated by the Project Superintendent.</li><li>
Conduct safety orientations and subcontractor coordination meetings.</li><li>
Prepare quantity and type of materials, equipment and tools required for Hourigan performed work for ordering by the Project Superintendent.</li><li>
Monitor all on-site construction activities for progress, quality, safety, and coordination with other trades.</li><li>
Enforce all required Hourigan on-site Quality Control procedures.</li><li>
Enforce all required Hourigan on-site Safety and emergency procedures.</li><li>
Participate in the Hourigan Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) by committing to safe work practices, raising concerns, attending, and applying safety and health training, and eliminating hazards within your capability and control and the help of safety staff.</li><li>
Provide resources and support to ensure positive safety and health outcomes in line with the Hourigan SHMS.</li></ul>
Qualifications and Experience:<ul><li>
B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>
At least 2-5 years of experience, preferably in general contracting.</li><li>
Fosters a strong desire to learn, welcomes a new challenge, and values the need to collaborate with all team members.</li><li>
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>
Experience with construction management software required. Experience with Procore and Bluebeam preferred.</li><li>
Experience and knowledge of commercial construction means and methods, application of LEED certifications, and a thorough understanding of industry practices.</li><li>
