Free People Movement is seeking an Assistant Designer to support our To/From Category. The FP Movement Assistant Designer contributes to the overall trend and direction for designs each season for casual To/From product categories. The Assistant Designer actively participates in designing seasonal collections ensuring that designs and resulting product are cohesive and appropriate for the Free People Movement.</div><div></div><p><br>

</p>Role Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Translate new ideas for upcoming seasons and presentations by sketching, Ai and/or mocking.</li><li>
Maintain an active role in the weekly Design Flow Meetings. Take notes and manage follow up communication on all outstanding issues in collaboration with Designer.</li><li>
Support seasonal development calendar in partnership with designer/buyers/technical designers/production.</li><li>
Execute specific design development projects as assigned by Designer and manage development and execution of trim and artwork packages.</li><li>
Set up spec sheets for all private label product &amp; assist Design Lead with market developments &amp; follow-up communication as needed.</li><li>
Partner with PD on the status of styles in development daily to ensure product execution meets design specifications and are on track in style development process.</li><li>
Assist in completing technical sketches for domestic and overseas programs, set up spec sheets for all private label product &amp; assist Designer with market developments as well as follow-up communication as needed.</li><li>
Prepare development packages and participate in follow up communication related to each package.</li><li>
Review incoming garments with Designer and PD partners to ensure they are correct and in line with original intent as well as brand standards.</li><li>
Assist in sample preparation for monthly sales review meetings by collaborating with Designer on innovative presentations that effectively communicate line to Buyers and Brand leaders.</li><li>
Support in executing original design ideas through draped &amp; sewn mocks an Ai renderings in preparation for key meetings.</li><li>
Develop and present creative ideas that express FP Movement&rsquo;s point of view in the market without being too obscure.</li></ul>
Role Qualifications:
<ul><li>Proactive and willingness to perform special tasks as needed.</li><li>
Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Apparel Design or related field preferred.</li><li>
1-3 Years of related industry experience.</li><li>
Design tools: Procreate, Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop), Ai is a plus but not required.</li><li>
Sewing, draping, mocking experience.</li><li>
Excellent communication skills to communicate ideas and inspirations to others and to interact with Designers, Buyers and other Cross Functional partners.</li><li>
Strong understanding of the FP Movement aesthetic, customer and brand identity.</li></ul><p></p><p><br>
