Responsibilities:
 
 
Design Boards &amp; Concept Development<ul><li>
Build and maintain physical and digital design boards, including fabric swatches, color palettes, prints, and mood boards</li><li>
Create color palette boards by month; source color swatches and Pantone chips based on seasonal direction</li><li>
Develop front and back sketches in Procreate and apply CAD color and print</li><li>
Create digital design decks that mirror physical boards for sketch reviews and milestone meetings</li><li>
Prepare category-based decks (tops, dresses, pants, outerwear) and assign style numbers for approved designs</li><li>
Add fabric details (pricing, composition, mill information) to boards and ensure proper end-of-season archiving</li></ul>
Flat Sketches &amp; Technical Preparation<ul><li>
Convert design illustrations into Illustrator flats for tech packs</li><li>
Research and propose garment trims, linings, and thread colors aligned with brand aesthetic</li><li>
Upload flats and style information into tech packs</li><li>
Develop finishing mockups and swatches through draping, sewing, or illustration as needed</li><li>
Maintain organized trim and lining libraries</li></ul>
Print, Stripe &amp; Graphic CADs<ul><li>
Recolor, rescale, and revise seasonal prints, graphics, and stripe layouts under Design Director guidance</li><li>
Prepare artwork and embroidery layouts for design reviews and factory launch</li></ul>
Development BOMs &amp; Cut Tickets<ul><li>
Create and manage proto and SMS cut tickets for domestic and overseas factories</li><li>
Update BOMs with accurate fabrics, trims, and colorways post-fitting</li><li>
Ensure materials are purchased and domestic factories have all components at hand off</li></ul>
Fittings &amp; Sample Management<ul><li>
Take fit notes and photos during fittings; organize and upload to tech packs</li><li>
Assist with minor sample alterations as directed</li><li>
Prepare samples for reviews, sales meetings, lookbooks, and PDP shoots, ensuring proper labeling</li></ul>
Fabric &amp; Mill Outreach<ul><li>
Request fabric pricing and MOQs from mills and from vendors
</li><li>Coordinate sending out pitch sheets for print strike-offs and follow-ups</li></ul>
Photoshoots &amp; General Support<ul><li>
Assist on PDP and lookbook shoots (steaming, styling, on-set organization)</li><li>
Edit lookbook imagery as needed</li><li>
Support development logistics, including factory and vendor runs</li><li>
Assist with woven domestic development for the Our Lady of Rocco menswear collaboration</li></ul>
Qualification:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Fashion Design or related field</li><li>
1&ndash;2 years of design or product development experience (internships included)</li><li>
Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; working knowledge of Photoshop and Procreate</li><li>
Experience creating flats, supporting tech packs, and managing BOM updates</li><li>
Solid understanding of garment construction, fabrication, and trims</li><li>
Ability to develop and recolor CADs, prints, and stripe layouts</li><li>

Supports the Keds design team in bringing fresh, thoughtful product to life each season. Contributes to the full design journey&mdash;from early concept through production&mdash;while collaborating closely with Senior Design and the Design Director. Develops designs that reflect a strong understanding of the Keds brand and the footwear creation process. Elevates seasonal stories through color, materials, and trend-aware thinking that resonates with our consumers. This position is HYBRID to our Burlington, MA office.

<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">What You'll Be Doing</h2>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">Design Creation &amp; Development</h3>
<ul><li>Support Senior Designer and Design Director in building product lines that reflect the Keds Brand DNA.</li>
<li>Create 2D CADs using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, translating direction into polished visuals.</li>
<li>Develop colorways and material options for new and seasonal styles.</li>
<li>Participate in concept, trend, and design meetings, contributing ideas and solutions.</li>
</ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">Trend, Market &amp; Consumer Insight</h3>
<ul><li>Research fashion trends and consumer preferences across global regions.</li>
<li>Maintain ongoing knowledge of market shifts to inform design decisions.</li>
<li>Leverage trend insights to support design discussions with cross functional partners.</li>
</ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">Cross-Functional Collaboration</h3>
<ul><li>Partner with product development, product management, and marketing to ensure designs are feasible, cost effective, and compelling for the marketplace.</li>
<li>Communicate clearly and adapt quickly as design needs evolve.</li>
</ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">Design Operations &amp; Organization</h3>
<ul><li>Maintain design assets including CAD updates, tech packs, and organized design files.</li>
<li>Assist with upkeep and organization of the Material Library, applying strong fabrication knowledge.</li>
<li>Follow seasonal calendar deadlines to keep projects on track.</li>
<li>Meet expectations for quality, accuracy, and timely completion of work.</li>
<li>Stay curious&mdash;continuously learning and supporting all aspects of the design process.</li>

<ul><li>Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in footwear design, fashion, or industrial design, in that order of preference.</li>
