Job Summary
The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for ensuring proper operations, maintenance, service and repair of all equipment, while supporting the Avion Hospitality goals of guest satisfaction, cost control and profitability. He/she is also responsible for overseeing and participating in the Preventative Maintenance program, ensuring that all rooms and public space meet Avion Hospitality standards. Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities; for OEM associates, overtime does apply and is calculated accordingly.
Exempt managers must customarily and regular direct the work of at least 3 full-time associates or their equivalents. Primary duties must consist of administrative, executive, or professional tasks more than 50 percent of the time and job duties must also involve the use of discretion and independent judgement more than 50 percent of the time.
Education &amp; Experience<ul><li>
 High School diploma or equivalent required.</li><li>
 At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field; or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience; or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience.</li><li>
 Supervisory experience required.</li><li>
 Current Certification as required by Federal, State or Local governing agents pertaining to trade requirements (i.e. HVAC, pool operation, electrical), property specific.</li><li>
 Current certification and licensing to operate and repair the hotels boilers and chillers as required by state, city, and local legislation.</li><li>
 Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state.</li><li>
 Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.</li><li>

Requirements:

Job Duties &amp; Functions<ul><li>
 Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.</li><li>
 Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Avion Hospitality standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.</li><li>

 Comply at all times with Avion Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.</li><li>
 Comply with certification requirements as applicable for position to include: Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR and First Aid</li><li>
 Train and supervise the hourly Engineering staff and coordinate all scheduling.</li><li>
 Review Engineering staff's worked hours for payroll compilation and submit to accounting on a timely basis.</li><li>
 Focus the Engineering Department on their role in contributing to the guest service scores.</li><li>
 Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all Engineering personnel according to Avion Hospitality standards.</li><li>
 Conduct all 90 day and annual employee performance appraisals according to Avion Hospitality standards.</li><li>
 Prepare and conduct all Engineering interviews and follow hiring procedures according to Avion Hospitality standards.</li><li>
 Attend weekly staff meetings and provide training on a rotational basis using the steps to effective training according to Avion Hospitality standards.</li><li>
 Respond to employee emergency situations using information contained in M.S.D. sheets. Keep M.S.D. sheets current and easily available (with Housekeeping Manager).</li><li>
 Establish ongoing training for all departments especially Housekeeping, Front Desk and Kitchen to maintain basic upkeep of their departments and equipment.</li><li>
 Adhere to budgeted or re-forecasted expense allotments, using proper procedures for all purchases and keep all necessary items (light bulbs, name tags, etc.) stocked.</li><li>
 Coordinate all inspections of the fire safety systems, including extinguishers, smoke alarms, etc., to maintain proper safety standards.</li><li>
 Manage energy expenses and continually work towards energy conservation.</li><li>
 Participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled.</li><li>
 Ensure that the Preventative Maintenance program is implemented and administered according to Avion Hospitality standards.</li><li>
 Evaluate and spot check the work of all staff and contractors or outside laborers.</li><li>
 Handle guestroom maintenance requests in a timely manner.</li><li>
 Maintain files of and be familiar with all operational manuals and warranty agreements for equipment.</li><li>
 Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause; determine emergency status and report to Guest Services and/or the General Manager with findings.</li><li>
 Ensure that employees are at all times attentive, friendly, courteous and helpful to guests, all other employees and managers.</li><li>
 Act as emergency contact person.</li><li>
 Attend monthly all-employee meetings and any other functions required by management.</li><li>
 Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees and other departments.</li><li>
 Ensure that pool and spa are in compliance with area health codes.</li><li>
 Use proper two-way radio etiquette at all times when communicating with other employees; Ensure the proper use of radio etiquette within department.</li><li>
 Chair Safety Committee, as well as help coordinate fire drills and the training of all employees on safety procedures.</li><li>
 Establish and maintain key control system.</li><li>
 Be familiar with the organization of Avion Hospitality Hotels and know the function of each department.</li><li>
 Conduct daily property tour of the hotel and exterior perimeter for debris and trash removal; Check the lighting and irrigation periodically.</li><li>
 Handle items for &ldquo;Lost and Found&rdquo; according to the standard.</li><li>
 Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager.</li></ul>

The Opportunity 
WSDOT Northwest Region is seeking an Assistant Project Engineer (WMS2) for the Snohomish/King County Construction Office in Seattle, WA. Reporting to the Project Engineer, this position is responsible for assisting in the leadership, management, and delivery of assigned highway construction projects within the region&rsquo;s Capital Improvement and Preservation Program. This role applies advanced engineering and management principles to support the planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution of complex construction contracts while ensuring compliance with agency standards and regulatory requirements. The Assistant Project Engineer also contributes to integrating projects into the surrounding environment, maintaining mobility for all users, and minimizing impacts to the traveling public through effective planning, coordination, and implementation of construction activities. 
 
What to Expect 
This position assists the Project Engineer to lead an office of 20-25 professional and technical engineer FTEs. The highest classification managed is a Transportations Engineer 3. Oversight of General Engineering Consultant (GEC) support staff may also be required.<div></div><div> 
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the Assistant Project Engineer will:</div><ul><li>
Strategically plan the budget, schedule, and workforce necessary to deliver the Capital Improvement and Preservation Program (CIPP).</li><li>
Work in partnership with the public, media, elected officials, contractors, and outside agencies to plan, build, maintain, and operate an efficient transportation system.</li><li>
Lead an office of professional and technical engineers, including interns, temporary employees, and engineering consultants, in the construction of multiple transportation improvement and preservation projects.</li><li>
Coordinate with the Design procurement team on Request for Proposal (RFP) development, lead meetings with Design-Builders, and contribute to proposal evaluations.</li><li>
Manage assigned projects in accordance with WSDOT policy and procedures to achieve scope, schedule, budget, and documentation objectives.</li><li>
Deliver projects in an environmentally responsible manner consistent with applicable laws.</li><li>

POSITION PROFILE

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES<ul><li>

Implement and schedule property and equipment preventive maintenance programs in compliance with</li><li>
Corporate / franchise standards and local, state and national codes and regulations to ensure safety and satisfaction of all guests, managers and associates, to protect the assets and maintain the property in first class condition.</li><li>
Prioritize service requests; schedule and monitor the services performed to ensure customer safety and satisfaction. Coordinate with contractors regarding outside repairs and building maintenance.</li><li>
Extensive experience with installing and troubleshooting electrical switches, operating boilers, and repairing appliances. Test and examine the life safety systems to ensure they are always 100% operational to protect the asset, guests and associates. Monitor utility consumption to determine the effectiveness of current systems.</li><li>
Diagnose mechanical, equipment and building problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.</li><li>
Recommends the departmental budget and capital expenditures &amp; manages expenses within approved budget constraints. Review purchase requests and monitor expenses to ensure budgeted goals are met/ exceeded.</li><li>
Assist in the administration of the department to include but not limited to preparing and maintaining schedules, logs, records or other documentation to ensure a smooth operation and minimize liabilities.</li><li>
Perform Manager-on-Duty functions and shifts as assigned.</li></ul>
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES<ul><li>
One to two years of post-high school education; one or two-year certificate program in building maintenance, technology or related field.</li><li>
Minimum of five years of building maintenance experience in a leadership role or a related management position.</li><li>
Ability to perform critical analysis and manage a wide-range of information. Has natural instincts and insight for finding the best solution to unclear situations, issues and problems.  Liaise with Landscape &amp; hardscape Design Consultants and Contractors.

A Maintenance Manager I at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our Maintenance team supporting efforts to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance within the maintenance department. Key Responsibilities</h3><div> 
1. Maintenance Team Management:</div><ul>
<li>Plan, schedule, and direct maintenance team.</li>
<li>Executes locally the strategic vision of cohesive, proactive, technically skilled maintenance departments across all Processing Operating Group.</li>
<li>Participates in all divisional maintenance team collaboration initiatives.</li>
<li>Continuously improve maintenance processes, program, and team to support on-site operations, develop skills, and prevent mechanical failure.</li>
<li>Foster and lead a working environment that includes open and productive communication with machine operators, department supervisors, and managers.</li>
<li>Manages and implements CMMS system for preventative maintenance, work orders, and equipment tracking.</li>

<li>Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.</li>
<li>Administer Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP) principles and requirements to ensure compliance and safety.</li>
<li>Model and administer maintenance department safety plans and procedures.</li>
<li>Interact with regulatory agencies, as necessary.</li>
</ul><div>3. Operation and Project Oversight:</div><ul>
<li>Formulate and implement preventative maintenance schedule for facility machinery and equipment that are consistent with regulatory, manufacturer, and industry standards.</li>
<li>Oversee all on-site maintenance functions including refrigeration, electrical, hydraulics, welding, processing equipment, employee housing, etc.</li>
<li>Coordinate and inspect work performed by third-party refrigeration contractors.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain the maintenance department budget, tracking expenses and driving down costs, where feasible.</li>
<li>Manage alternating schedules for weekend or after-hours emergency response.</li>
<li>Oversee new installation projects and strategic initiatives.</li>
<li>Willing to travel to other processing plants for support and training, as needed.</li>

<li>3+ years experience managing and directing a team of technicians in preventative maintenance, repair, operations, and safety.</li>
<li>Ability to manage and execute minor engineering projects and installations such as refrigeration systems, pumps, conveyor systems, boilers, etc.</li>
<li>5+ years of industrial maintenance in manufacturing, food processing or seafood processing.</li>
