Job Description 
e position is responsible for assisting the Executive Housekeeper in the overall management and strategy enactment of the Housekeeping Department. The focus of this position is to handle the day to day flawless operation of rooms cleaning, public areas as well as laundry.
Primary Responsibilities
Manages The Day To Day Housekeeping Operation Of Rooms, Public Areas And Laundry.<ul><li>
Oversees the daily operation of rooms cleaning as well as turndown operation from room assignment to assignment handover.</li><li>
Directly supervises the Housekeeping team and is responsible for their daily assignment of tasks and projects.</li><li>

Performs daily audits through documented checklists of all areas as assigned by EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER Performs inspections and walkthroughs along with direct reports of their respective circles of influence.</li><li>
Leads with a hands approach on supervision, constructive recommendations, clear communication and prompt follow up; enforces the hotel&rsquo;s rules and regulations and departmental policies and procedures.</li><li>
Assists with interviewing, selecting and training of new colleagues. Monitors and record their progress and productivity. Ensures training hours are executed as directed by People &amp; Culture team and EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER .</li><li>
Handles minor performance challenges and supports EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER with appropriate documentation and counselling for all Housekeeping colleagues.</li><li>
Finalizes, approves daily and weekly rosters, staffing levels, vacation and holiday schedules in accordance with forecasted occupancy and business needs, maintains and updates attendance records.</li><li>
Completes performance evaluations for direct reports, makes recommendations for promotions, salary increases and transfers.</li><li>
Monitors ongoing verbal and written communication between shifts to ensure thorough and complete handover.</li><li>
In charge of daily ongoing and scheduled communications with associated departments through established channels regarding necessary information related to room status, group arrivals, top VIPs, special projects, out of order rooms and repair requirements.</li><li>
Participates in, daily and periodic departmental communication meetings and training sessions with all levels of colleagues. Assists EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER with post minutes and keeping training records.</li><li>
Makes sure established par stocks for room linen, uniforms, guest loan items and guest supplies are on-hand and controls consumption. In control of daily, weekly, monthly inventories and reports any discrepancies to the EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER .</li><li>
Liaises with outside contractors pertinent to information issued by the department head, appraises the quality and reliability of their contribution and makes recommendation for or against renewal of contracts.</li><li>
Assists EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER to prepare financial analysis, departmental reports and budgets, design worksheets, documents and master lists as directed.</li></ul>

Diploma or Degree preferably in hospitality or related field.</li><li>
Minimum 7 years in industry experience with minimum 5 years in middle management positions.</li><li>
Experience in luxury hotel/resort.</li><li>
Oral and written fluency in English. Ability to converse in other languages is an advantage.</li><li>
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and Opera PMS.</li><li>

Verify the accuracy of DNR rooms by hotel procedures.</li><li>
Counsel both housekeepers and departmental trainers on any room status discrepancies that may appear on random sampling sheets.</li><li>
Actively assists direct reports in the identification of their training and development (T&amp;D) needs for current and future positions.</li><li>
Motivates direct reports to grow personally and professionally.</li><li>
Provides the time and resources for direct reports to undergo identified T&amp;D.</li><li>
Provides subtle pressure when direct reports are reluctant to develop themselves.</li><li>
Provides regular feedback on performance.</li><li>
Provides and arranges on-the-job training and coaching.</li><li>
Is actively engaged in attracting talent to the organization.</li><li>

Accommodate guest requests for Housekeeping items or additional supplies expediently and courteously. Follow up on delivery and return of all such items with appropriate staff.</li><li>
Ensure that efficient system is upheld in the maintaining of work orders ensuring that they are adhered to by both Housekeeping and Engineering departments.</li><li>
Prepare the monthly forecast numbers for payroll budget and expenses.</li><li>
Maintain constant control over changes and variances in budget for payroll, staff, and ordering of supplies according to changes in occupancy levels.</li><li>
Manager labor costs within budget standards and staffing guidelines for rooms sold.</li><li>
Ensure that the proper training of staff is performed at all times by selected departmental trainers.</li><li>
Provide feedback on staff performance to the room director and/or General Manager.</li><li>
Work with Human Resources to resolve any disciplinary problems.</li><li>
Ensure that an accurate inventory is completed at least twice a month about Housekeeping amenity supplies, standard guest room items, and linen.</li><li>
Document pertinent information in the department logbook and/or guest incident action forms.</li><li>
Review the status of assignments and any follow-up action with the manager and/or on-coming shift supervisor.</li><li>
Performs any related duties as requested by supervisor.</li></ul>
SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES<div>
Education &amp;Experience: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a related field from an accredited university/college plus at least five (5) years of related experience; or high school diploma or equivalent plus at least seven (7) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the above skills, knowledge, and abilities.</div>

Knowledge of housekeeping operations, including proper use, storage, and first aid for cleaning products.</li><li>
Full understanding of the hotel&rsquo;s various room types.</li><li>
Excellent customer service skills demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.</li><li>
Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer.</li><li>
Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to understand and communicate with team members and guests. Must have excellent telephone etiquette skills.</li></ul><div></div><div>
