Description:
Stantec is looking to hire a Assistant Resident Engineer for a Sewage Treatment Plant in Dubai.
This role is for a project where the authority in Dubai is requiring the rehabilitation of an existing Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to enable it to perform at its highest possible efficiency and to extend the plant to be able to receive and treat efficiently up to
around 435,000 m3 /day. The selected candidate shall have extensive experience working in local sewage treatment plant facilities along with a proven ability to manage and supervise the construction works and optimization of the operation process within the existing STP in accordance with the specification.
Rehabilitation / Repairing of Civil Works,
Extension of the Plant to around 175,000 m3/Day and
Rehabilitation of existing 260,000m3/Day STP
Qualifications:
The Assistant Resident Engineer must have full and complete knowledge of the existing infrastructure in the Emirates of Dubai.
The candidate must have a relevant degree from a recognized university and must have thoughtful knowledge and work experience of no less than 15 years of infrastructure works. He must be able to take on the spot decisions and able to deal with all service authorities. The candidate must have a thoughtful knowledge and experience in managing the site works for construction and sewage treatment plants and pumping station works of different disciplines he must have also thorough knowledge and experience in the design of infrastructure works.
Familiar with DM guidelines in following the progress of the works and manage the inspection activities of all the consultants staff ensure that the actual works are matching with the planned works as per the construction work program using quality assurance, quantity surveying and project network techniques (Primavera P3).
<ul><li>The candidate must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Primavera P3.</li>
<li>Confident in his own ability to control the works</li>
<li>Excellent written and communication skills (English), time management and supervisory skills</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to prepare instructions, specifications and reports and cost estimates.</li>
<li>Capacity to make decision</li>

Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Resident Engineer (Civil - Infrastructure) to join our team!
What You'll Be Doing:<ul><li>
Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of roads and infrastructure works and associated items.</li><li>
Act in place of the Resident Engineer when on leave or absent.</li><li>
Coordinate his direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.</li><li>
Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing of shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and other activities including correspondence related to the utility section and prepare replies for the review of the Resident Engineer.</li><li>
Coordinate with Parsons' design engineers for resolution of related issues.</li><li>
Maintain the daily diary and the daily reports by the inspectors.</li><li>
Coordinate with the contractor engineers on scheduling and application of resources.</li><li>
Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the inspectors and surveyors as applicable.</li><li>
Convene and chair special meetings with the service authorities, the contractor, subcontractors and other parties related to his work.</li><li>
Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.</li><li>
Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.</li><li>
Prepare / Assist in the preparation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports.</li><li>
Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Resident Engineer and the project safety representatives.</li><li>
Provide all necessary on-site direction and assist the Resident Engineer to issue site instructions with respect to utilities works and associated items.</li><li>
Check and measure the performed work in his line of work, record and assist the Resident Engineer to display progress vs. programmed work.</li><li>
Ensure correctness and completeness of &lsquo;as-built&rsquo; drawings within his line of work.</li></ul>
What Required Skills You'll Bring:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 10 years of experience in design, site supervision, and construction management of road and infrastructure projects, including roads and bridges.</li><li>
A minimum of 2 years of proven experience managing supervision activities on large-scale infrastructure projects within Abu Dhabi is mandatory.</li><li>
Should be able to review and justify the material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, testing and quality measures, ensuring the compliance with the project&rsquo;s Specifications.</li><li>
Must have a sound knowledge about contractual relationships.</li><li>
Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.</li><li>
Must be fluent in English written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.</li><li>
Keep necessary records and as-built records and take charge of the handing over of the utility works to the respective service authorities and assist the contractor to obtain necessary final clearance.</li><li>
