Position Summary:
Successful Assistant Store Managers are responsible for providing leadership to ensure the store delivers outstanding customer service, meets all operating objectives, sales, and financial goals, and follows company policies and procedures. The Assistant Manager performs all the duties of a Customer Service Representative plus assists the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the store, and in the absence of the Store Manager, is responsible for directing the activities of all employees.
Tasks &amp; Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Maintaining exemplary customer service within the store and establishing special business relationships with our customers so they will choose to do business with us rather than our competitors</li><li>
Assisting the Store Manager in implementing strategies to help meet store goals and objectives</li><li>
Assisting the Store Manager with recruiting, developing, and motivating store employees who exceed internal and external customer expectations</li><li>
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations</li><li>
Establishing a strong customer service/selling culture to maximize sales</li><li>
Working as a Customer Service Representative and supervising CSR activities in the absence of the Store Manager.</li><li>
Assisting the Store Manager in ordering, bank deposits, and daily paperwork</li><li>
Must complete store paperwork at least once per week</li><li>
Must complete all store orders at least once per month</li><li>
Marketing within your community to increase market share and store revenues</li><li>
Resolving customer complaints for increased customer satisfaction</li><li>
Assisting the Store Manager with controlling labor hours, cash, store audits, and shrinkage</li><li>
Help maintain a neat and clean store environment for our customers and employees</li><li>
Other duties as assigned</li><li>
Attend monthly financial meeting with manager and district manager</li><li>
In the absence of a store manager, Assistant Manager will perform all store duties</li></ul>
Requirements:

Pre-requisites:<ul><li>
A minimum of one year management experience in industries such as hospitality, financial services, retail and restaurant</li><li>
High School graduate or equivalent</li><li>

Must be able to work any area of the store (both inside and out) when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register.</li><li>
Position requires bending, standing, walking and repetitive use of hands and arms the entire workday.</li><li>
Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.</li><li>
Position requires the ability to handle exposure to food and cleaning chemicals on an hourly basis.</li><li>
Must have the ability to work a minimum of 40 to 50 hours a week.</li><li>
Must have reliable transportation and the ability to be on call 24 hours a day.</li><li>
Must manage a number of projects at one time and handle frequent interruptions to meet the needs and requests of customers</li></ul>

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store or General Manager in the daily operation of our retail store. You will supervise employees and tasks, work directly with customers, and play an instrumental role in carrying out the directives of the manager. Cash handling, customer service, team building, and problem solving are essential skills that will be used on a daily basis.</div>
Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Store Manager you will support all store operations and departments in partnership with the Store Manager or General Manager. You may be involved in purchasing for one or more departments, directing operational functions, and/or with scheduling and team development. At all times you will be expected to deliver outstanding customer service to the academic and co-curricular community while helping the store to meet or exceed sales goals, identify business opportunities, and motivate our team. With people management you may have direct involvement with training, directing, and counseling our team to help create excitement around our products, programs, and initiatives. Driving our team to create customer experiences that enhance bookstore loyalty, and deliver measurable results will be a daily expectation.</div><div></div><div>

Develop a working knowledge of all departments in the store to provide daily support, direction, and guidance to customers and team members.</li><li>
Assign and direct work activities for team members or other management team members to ensure delivery of services, sales, and customer service.</li><li>
Maintain a presence on the sales floor to greet customers, answer questions, and assist with purchases of merchandise or services when necessary.</li><li>
Manage customer and/or employee issues appropriately, timely, and with respect.</li><li>
Assist with hiring and training new employees for the sales floor or other departments.</li>
Maintain an appealing sales floor<li>- shelf, arrange, clean, and organize product or space within the store.</li><li>

Qualifications:

This position will manage the store during the Store Manager&rsquo;s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. Ensure that Zipline messages are communicated, and Image Maker and merchandising tasks are delegated and completed as assigned.
Make sure all team members are complying with company policies specifically; adhering to the posted work schedule, changes/deviations are being approved by a member of management, and team members are clocking in/out accordingly.
Perform all store opening/closing duties, including performing day end procedures, verifying/securing money/deposits according to company policy, preparing bank deposits as needed, ensuring all night security lights are on, locking doors and securing building, arming/disarming security alarms, and checking/securing/locking delivery vehicle(s) parked in a secure designated area.
Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
