Review all new client grant agreements to ensure that grants are accounted for and tracked properly and to identify any compliance expectations that may impact our accounting processes.</li><li>Conduct a full annual review of client financial statements to ensure that they are accurate and &lsquo;audit-ready&rsquo; prior to the commencement of financial statement audits.</li><li>Serve as the primary liaison with client auditors, ensuring that all requested documentation is provided in a timely manner, so that the audit timeline can remain on track.</li><li>Prepare annual 1099 filings for all assigned clients.</li><li>Participate in new client onboarding meetings to understand their unique needs and to build customized accounting processes.</li><li>Participate in periodic client &lsquo;desk reviews&rsquo; to identify areas for improvement and to develop a game plan for cleaning-up any accounting issues.</li><li>Maintain and rigorously document accounting processes for all assigned clients. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting cost accounting functions, and ensuring compliance with company policies and food manufacturing standards. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing accounting, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with production and operations teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Accountant Role:</li><li>
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports</li><li>
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly account reconciliations</li><li>
Support month-end and year-end close processes</li><li>
Assist with cost accounting, including tracking raw materials, labor, and production costs</li><li>
Monitor inventory valuation and conduct inventory reconciliations</li><li>
Partner with operations to analyze production variances, waste, and efficiencies</li><li>
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes as needed</li><li>
Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and internal controls</li><li>
Assist with audits, including financial and inventory audits</li><li>
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production and cost control</li><li>
Identify discrepancies and recommend process improvements</li><li>
Updating vendor information and other accounting activities that come up</li><li>
 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:</li><li>
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>
High attention to detail and data accuracy.</li><li>
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.</li><li>
Working knowledge of ERP systems desired.</li><li>
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment</li><li>
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:</li><li>
High school diploma required, Associate or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in business, Accounting, or related field preferred.</li><li>
1&ndash;3 years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, food manufacturing, or distribution environment preferred.</li><li>
Equivalent work experience may substitute for education.</li><li>
