The Associate Buyer in partnership with the Buyer is responsible for developing the strategic vision, business strategy and assortment plan for a portfolio of programs or classifications of business under the Merchandise Managers scope of responsibility. At more experienced levels, the Associate Buyer may directly manage a category of business under the supervision of the Merchandise Manager. This position develops customer centric assortment plans based on an intimate understanding of each cruise line&rsquo;s brand, guest demography and a detailed knowledge of the product category/marketplace and data. For nearly 40 years, we have been a preferred buyer and processor of Platinum Group Metals from spent Catalytic converters and Dealers/Brokers of Non-ferrous Metals. Our business is built on a history of dedication, integrity, loyalty and long-standing customer relationships. LSR has locations across North America including Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and California. We have an immediate opening for an Associate Buyer for our Edinburgh, Indiana location. The Associate Buyer is responsible for securing new business prospects through sourcing and travelling to salvage &amp; recycling yards, to purchase catalytic converters and non-ferrous metals. Upon purchases the Associate Buyer is responsible for loading all purchased units and transporting these units back to the assigned collection hub, where units will be unloaded, sorted and prepared for shipment to the corporate office.</p><p>

</p><p><b>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><p>
Internal and external customer service relating to your purchases and customer-base.</p><p>
Communicate and coordinate your catalytic converter buys with salvage yard Managers, Owners, Core Buyers and Brokers.</p><p>
Manage and secure the daily inventory purchased. Perform onsite audits and adhere to control processes for inventory accuracy.</p><p>
Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations in order to purchase materials in compliance.</p><p>
Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned by Supervisor, could include: coordinating shipping arrangements; inventory weigh-in reports/logs; train new buyers; fork lift operation.</p><p>
</p><p><b>Education/Qualifications:
</b></p><p>Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required</p><p>
Minimum Age 21 years</p><p>
Vocational/Technical Training a plus</p><p>
Clean Driving Record with Valid Driver's License</p><p>
Must be able to pass a successful pre-employment screening: background check, drug screen, MVR</p><p>
Solid Communication and Customer Service Skills, Outside Sales</p><p>
Prior Metals experience not required, previous experience is a plus</p><p>
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus</p><p>
Must be proficient in MS Office</p><p>
Possible overnight Stays</p><p>
