 As a faculty member, you will report to the Head of the Department and be responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating a broad range of courses within Mechanical Engineering (Smart Manufacturing) and related diploma, degree, and graduate programs. You will also evaluate student progress and manage the learning environment resources. The successful candidate will be expected to liaise with industry and other educational institutions, participate in industry advisory committees, and coordinate, manage, and supervise final year/capstone projects within the specified program area.
 
 
 You will keep course portfolio documents required for program review and accreditation processes and engage in instructional and new program development. The College encourages applications from research-active faculty members who will also enhance applied research and innovation.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking an Associate Buyer that will be responsible for the purchasing of goods or materials and preparing and processing related paperwork in compliance with the University purchasing policy (i.e. purchase order). The Associate Buyer contacts vendors as needed to follow-up on questions and/or issues. Answers department related questions regarding the University purchasing policies and procedures. Generally, this position purchases goods and materials from vendors on the Procurement Services preferred supplier and contract supplier list. May assist with reviewing vendor lines, placing re- orders, pricing merchandise, managing inventories or performing price comparisons.
Core Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Monitors the purchasing email inbox to promptly review, acknowledge, and determine ownership of purchase requests.
</li><li>Converts purchase requests to purchasing tickets using request tracker software.
</li><li>Ensures compliance with procurement policies.
</li><li>Uses a university purchasing card or Oracle Purchase Orders to convert Purchase Requests to orders.
</li><li>Creates Capital Asset Requisitions for capital equipment.
</li><li>Communicates with faculty and staff to provide order status and resolve issues.

Other preferred qualifications include: expertise in programming and coding (preferably using Python and C++) and GUI development; expertise in computational mechanics and finite element simulation and modeling; expertise in laboratory and multi-scale experimental testing at the material, component, and structural levels.
 
 
 The candidates will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists and undergraduate students, conduct high-quality &ldquo;innovative and independent&rdquo; experimental, analytical, and/or computational research, publish research work and results in scientific peer-reviewed journals and conferences, mentor undergraduate students, and participate in writing research grant proposals.
