What You'll Do
<ul><li>Provide school psychology services in the school setting</li>

What We're Looking For

Consult with parents, teachers and other educational personnel to help them understand child development and how it affects learning and behavior.</li><li>
Provide consultation on the special education needs of children.</li><li>
Provide individual, group or consultative services for referred children whose diagnosed needs would be addressed through behavioral interventions.</li><li>
Prepare and submit required documentation on children with disabilities.</li><li>
Cooperate with and develop collaborative relationships with personnel of mental health, community health, and other state and local agencies serving and supporting children with special needs. Prepare forms as requested by outside agencies.</li><li>
As agreed upon, attend staff, professional and interagency meetings.</li><li>
Assist in conducting in-service training of ESD and local school district personnel and community members.</li><li>
Initiate and direct appropriate research which is approved in advance by the ESD.</li><li>
Keep abreast of new developments in the field.</li><li>
Initiate and direct a responsible route of travel; provide supervisor, team members and special education secretary with access to weekly schedule and complete report of contacts and mileage forms by designated timelines.</li><li>
Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.</li><li>
Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with staff and customers at all organizational levels.</li><li>

 Upper School Psychologist / Counselor
 Reporting to the Director of Counseling and Wellness and the Head of Upper School Student Life, the Upper School Psychologist/Counselor partners with Student Life to support students in Grades 9–12, advancing their social, emotional, and psychological well-being in a rigorous academic environment.
 The Psychologist/Counselor brings expertise in working with adolescents and families, providing individual and small-group counseling, delivering classroom instruction, and collaborating with administrators on student needs and division-wide initiatives. They work closely with teachers, grade heads, and advisors to promote well-being, strengthen relationships, and foster an inclusive school culture.
 This role is part of a K–12 team of mental health professionals collaborating across divisions to ensure continuity of care and shared best practices.
 
Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Provide direct support to Upper School students, addressing social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs</li>
<li>Deliver crisis intervention and trauma-informed support, and contribute to division-wide crisis response planning</li>
<li>Facilitate small group counseling to build healthy coping strategies and resilience</li>
<li>Partner with families to support student well-being and develop individualized support plans</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with Upper School Student Life on all aspects of student social, emotional, and mental health</li>
<li>Participate in the Student Support Team, helping assess needs and guide coordinated support strategies</li>
<li>Develop and implement student support plans in partnership with leadership, learning specialists, nurses, faculty, families, and external providers</li>
<li>Partner with Upper School leadership to design and sustain programs that promote a healthy, balanced student experience, including parent and family engagement</li>
<li>Lead and advise student-centered initiatives and interventions that respond to emerging needs</li>
<li>Work with grade heads, advisors, and teachers to ensure a consistent, positive, and engaging student experience</li>
<li>Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including meeting notes and support documentation</li>
</ul>
Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>Licensed Mental Health Counselor or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) required; PhD or PsyD in clinical or school psychology preferred</li>
<li>3–5 years of relevant experience in a school setting</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively with adolescents and partner with families</li>
<li>Experience leading or contributing to faculty professional development</li>

Salary
 The salary for this position ranges from $105,000 to $125,000, depending on experience.
