<li>Coordinates media logistics for ESPN+ broadcast, to include in-game statistical reporting.</li>
<li>Plans both long-term and short-term objectives for the Athletic Department related to media relations, branding, and digital strategy.</li>

FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE:</b></p><p>
The purpose of this position is to assist the Board of Education in the fair and just discharge of its obligations to students and staff through performance of the Athletic Director&rsquo;s role over-and-beyond the duties of a classroom teacher.</p><p></p><p><br>
This is a 10 month position.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><ul><li>
Responsible for administering all interscholastic policies and procedures working within the confines of the Rules and By-Law of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.</li><li>
Responsible for all recommending facility improvements to Principal for consideration and referral.</li></ul><ul><li>
Responsible for providing game schedules for webpage publications as well as distribution to schools and booking agents.</li><li>
Responsible for the coordination of all weekly practice schedules.</li><li>
Responsible for contracting all game officials.</li><li>
Interpret Board Policy to the extent necessary to provide guidance for the school and coaches under his jurisdiction.</li><li>
Resolve conflicts that may develop within the Athletic Department.</li><li>
Discover ways for appropriately supporting and financing the athletic program.</li><li>
Submit a year-end financial report to the Principal annually.</li><li>
Arrange for transportation, lodging, and meals for all interscholastic events, when required.</li><li>
Receive and evaluate equipment quotations and approve appropriate orders from authorized coaches.</li><li>
Attend all home athletic contests and/or arrange for proper supervision of home athletic contests by administrative personnel.</li><li>
Responsible with the Principal, after consulting the Head Coach, for the cancellation or postponement of contests because of non-playing conditions.</li><li>
Supervise all radio broadcasts, as well as public address system operation at the various games.</li><li>
Maintain a permanent file of players, medical examinations, insurance forms, records, parent consent forms, payment, etc.</li><li>
Maintain permanent records for each sport, such as wins and losses, outstanding records, letterpersons, etc.</li><li>
Maintain a file of all athletic suspensions and expulsions from teams in regard to giving each athlete &ldquo;Due Process.&rdquo;</li><li>
Responsible for determining scholastic eligibility of all candidates for athletic teams on semester basis and for certifying their eligibility on the proper state forms.</li><li>
Responsible for preparing and submitting hardship waivers to WS/FCS and the NCHSAA.</li><li>
Coordinate the Academic Support Program.</li><li>
Coordinate with the Principal and coaches&rsquo; request to attend coaching clinics.</li><li>
Work in conjunction with the principal in developing the yearly budget for the athletic program, as requested by the head coaches.</li><li>
Work with the Principal, cheerleading advisors, and coaches involved in scheduling all athletic assemblies and pep rallies.</li><li>
Coordinate the use of all athletic facilities in the school with the Principal by groups outside the school.</li><li>
Responsible for game management at all home interscholastic contests and, when admission is charged, is responsible for the safekeeping and deposit of gate receipts.</li><li>
Provide for the cleaning, repairing, and storing of all athletic equipment and maintaining a perpetual inventory of all equipment.</li><li>
Establish procedures for the control of the training room.</li><li>
Arrange for medical doctors at all home varsity football games and larger athletic events.</li><li>
Supervise the physical equipment and schedule facilities for all interscholastic athletic contests.</li><li>
Plan, organize, and supervise all athletic awards programs with the Booster Club, with the approval of the Principal.</li><li>
Promote publicity for all interscholastic sports, such as sports brochures, press, and radio for all schools and shall assist the Booster Club in the organization of the game programs.</li><li>
Coordinate with the Principal the repair and maintenance of varsity athletic field, track, baseball field, and gymnasiums, including physical education facilities.</li><li>
Coordinate the use of activity buses for the high school as well as middle and elementary school field trips.</li><li>
Schedule CDL training and coordination of bus drivers for teams.</li><li>
Mowing of athletic fields and upkeep: football/soccer field, baseball field cross country course, practice fields.</li><li>
Line off game fields for competition.</li><li>
Field maintenance plan for the year: spraying, seeding, fertilization, top dressing, re-sowing, etc.</li><li>
Work with county maintenance dept. on development of needs and repairs.</li><li>
Manage athletic facilities and control their use by band, football team, track squad, etc. Hire or make necessary arrangements to provide ticket sales, parking, security, and other services required by the athletic operation.</li><li>
Assume responsibility for assignment of keys to athletic facilities and gymnasiums, including physical education facilities.</li><li>
Represent the school in all athletic business at Conference, State, and National meetings.</li><li>
Design a reasonable and equitable program for the utilization of the concession stands.</li><li>
Responsible for coordinating physical examinations with system athletic director in accordance with the requirements of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.</li><li>
Responsible for the operation and organization of the press boxes.</li><li>
Resolve conflicts between Parents and Coaches / Athletic Program.</li><li>
Attend and serve as school liaison at all Athletic Booster Club meetings.</li><li>

The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting in the direction of all phases of a nationally competitive athletic program in accordance with Barry University, the Sunshine State Conference, and NCAA DII regulations. Responsible for supporting the Head Coach by providing individual instruction/ teaching of said sport. Also, coordinates community involvement, completing/submitting administrative compliance documents and other duties assigned by Head Coach, Sport Supervisor or Athletic Director.</div><div></div><div>
This is a 12-month position. August 1st thru July 31st.</div><div></div><div>
Essential Functions:</div><div></div><div>
1. Organizes, supervises and conducts teaching sessions:</div><ul><li><div>
Assists the head coach with instructing/ teaching student-athletes in the rules, regulations, and techniques of the sport.</div></li><li><div>
Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by the head coach.</div></li><li><div>
Assists the head coach with supervising student-athletes during practices and competition.</div></li><li><div>
Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete&rsquo;s injury.</div></li><li><div>
Teaches assigned fundamentals and skills during practice and games.</div></li><li><div>
Assesses player&rsquo;s skills and keeps the head coach informed of the athletic performance of students.</div></li><li><div>
Models&rsquo; professional behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.</div></li></ul><div></div><div>
2. Establishes and maintains an organized recruiting system:</div><ul><li><div>
Recruits academically qualified student-athletes who form a competitive squad and meet established academic goals and objectives of the department.</div></li><li><div>
Participates in community service activities.</div></li><li><div>
Interacts with the Associate AD/ SWA, ICA Compliance Coordinator, Coordinator for Student-Athlete Success and Faculty Athletic Representative on all matters pertaining to eligibility.</div></li></ul><div></div><div>
3. Performs administrative functions in support of the Intercollegiate Athletic program:</div><ul><li><div>
Cooperates with the athletic administration in the implementation of department policies.</div></li><li><div>
Assists in the direction of the program within the scope of the Intercollegiate Athletics Program</div></li><li><div>
Maintains a representative level of performance in the conference that satisfies departmental goals and objectives.</div></li><li><div>
Consults with the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance concerning institutional, conference and NCAA regulations that will directly affect the program.</div></li><li><div>
Maintains adequate records.</div></li><li><div>
Assists in Management of his/her budget and assists in developing fund raising efforts for his/her sport.</div></li><li><div>
Works closely with Sport Performance, Marketing, Development and Athletic Communications.</div></li><li><div>
Manage student data; including admissions, financial aid, registration and academic performance data. All such data are treated as confidential in accordance with federal, state and university regulations.</div></li><li><div>
The Assistant Coach updates and maintains information on Compliance Assistant program, Salesforce, Workday, and the ACS Athletics program.</div></li></ul><div></div><div>
Qualifications/Requirements:</div><ul><li><div>
Bachelor's degree in any field.</div></li><li><div>
1-3 of experience related to position.</div></li><li><div>
Remains accountable for his/her actions.</div></li><li><div>
Maintains good rapport with high school and youth coaches.</div></li><li><div>
Must be constantly aware and concerned with his/her student-athletes&rsquo; mental and physical well-being.</div></li><li><div>
Exercises a high level of public contact on both the local, state and national level through games, recruiting, camps, clinics and development programs.</div></li><li><div>
Must have a valid driver's license.</div></li><li><div>
Must be able to streamline work processes.</div></li><li><div>
Must be comfortable with executing paperwork for projects.</div></li><li><div>
General knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.</div></li><li><div>
Adept at written and oral communication.</div></li><li><div>
Technically proficient in all office equipment.</div></li></ul><div></div>
