Athletics Leadership &amp; Coaching Management:</b> Lead the strategic direction of the K&ndash;8 athletics program to foster sportsmanship and student leadership. You will recruit, hire, and onboard all athletic coaches&mdash;including parent volunteers and other coaches&mdash;while providing clear expectations and ongoing mentorship.</li><li><b>
Athletic Operations &amp; Game Day Management:</b> Coordinate all game and practice schedules, facility reservations, and official assignments. Data &amp; Compliance:</b> Maintain accurate student participation metrics, rosters, and eligibility records while ensuring all programs meet league-mandated requirements.</li><li><b>

FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE:</b></p><p>
The purpose of this position is to assist the Board of Education in the fair and just discharge of its obligations to students and staff through performance of the Athletic Director&rsquo;s role over-and-beyond the duties of a classroom teacher.</p><p></p><p><br>
This is a 10 month position.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><ul><li>
Responsible for administering all interscholastic policies and procedures working within the confines of the Rules and By-Law of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.</li><li>
Responsible for all recommending facility improvements to Principal for consideration and referral.</li></ul><ul><li>
Responsible for providing game schedules for webpage publications as well as distribution to schools and booking agents.</li><li>
Responsible for the coordination of all weekly practice schedules.</li><li>
Responsible for contracting all game officials.</li><li>
Interpret Board Policy to the extent necessary to provide guidance for the school and coaches under his jurisdiction.</li><li>
Resolve conflicts that may develop within the Athletic Department.</li><li>
Discover ways for appropriately supporting and financing the athletic program.</li><li>
Submit a year-end financial report to the Principal annually.</li><li>
Arrange for transportation, lodging, and meals for all interscholastic events, when required.</li><li>
Receive and evaluate equipment quotations and approve appropriate orders from authorized coaches.</li><li>

Responsible for preparing and submitting hardship waivers to WS/FCS and the NCHSAA.</li><li>

Responsible for game management at all home interscholastic contests and, when admission is charged, is responsible for the safekeeping and deposit of gate receipts.</li><li>
Provide for the cleaning, repairing, and storing of all athletic equipment and maintaining a perpetual inventory of all equipment.</li><li>
Establish procedures for the control of the training room.</li><li>
Arrange for medical doctors at all home varsity football games and larger athletic events.</li><li>
Supervise the physical equipment and schedule facilities for all interscholastic athletic contests.</li><li>
Plan, organize, and supervise all athletic awards programs with the Booster Club, with the approval of the Principal.</li><li>
Promote publicity for all interscholastic sports, such as sports brochures, press, and radio for all schools and shall assist the Booster Club in the organization of the game programs.</li><li>
Coordinate with the Principal the repair and maintenance of varsity athletic field, track, baseball field, and gymnasiums, including physical education facilities.</li><li>
Coordinate the use of activity buses for the high school as well as middle and elementary school field trips.</li><li>
Schedule CDL training and coordination of bus drivers for teams.</li><li>
Mowing of athletic fields and upkeep: football/soccer field, baseball field cross country course, practice fields.</li><li>
Line off game fields for competition.</li><li>
Field maintenance plan for the year: spraying, seeding, fertilization, top dressing, re-sowing, etc.</li><li>

Manage athletic facilities and control their use by band, football team, track squad, etc. Hire or make necessary arrangements to provide ticket sales, parking, security, and other services required by the athletic operation.</li><li>
Assume responsibility for assignment of keys to athletic facilities and gymnasiums, including physical education facilities.</li><li>
Represent the school in all athletic business at Conference, State, and National meetings.</li><li>
Design a reasonable and equitable program for the utilization of the concession stands.</li><li>
Responsible for coordinating physical examinations with system athletic director in accordance with the requirements of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.</li><li>
Responsible for the operation and organization of the press boxes.</li><li>

Job Description</div><div>
Essential Functions:</div><ul><li>
Directs overall Athletics Communications operations for 18 intercollegiate sports and effective strategies for publicizing Wake Forest Athletics.</li><li>
Organizes and assigns staff to ensure consistent support for media representatives, athletic staff, and student-athletes. Manage coverage responsibilities for all home and away Olympic sports contest to ensure comprehensive media coverage.</li><li>
Primary media contact for all athletics coverage. Establish strong relationships with local, state, national, local print, and broadcast media.</li><li>
Provides leadership in digital and social media to ensure increased creative content and coverage of Wake Forest Athletics.</li><li>

Must possess writing, editing, and proofreading skills with experience in preparing press releases.</li><li>

The job of Head Coach is to design and implement the program's activities following applicable rules and regulations related to the sport; oversee assistant coaches, student managers, and /or volunteers; provide supervision of student athletes during all aspects of the program; using sound instructional techniques in overseeing program activities; serving as a positive role model to student athletes</p><p>
This job reports to the Athletic Director</p><p><b>
Essential Functions:</b></p><ul><li>
Assess student athletes and provide feedback to students on her individual performance and/or determine team placement.</li><li>
Attend supporting activities (e.g. parent orientations, recognition events, banquets, etc.) to provide information regarding the program and/or recognize participants' accomplishments.</li><li>
Develop a plan of action for fundraising and budgeting to maintain and balance activity accounts.</li><li>
Develop a plan for the purpose of preparing the team and individual student athletes for their competition.</li><li>
Develop team and individual practice regimes (e.g. strength, speed, agility, nutritional, injury prevention, etc.) to enhance and improve student athletes performance.</li><li>
Instruct student athletes for promoting individual growth in athletic skills, rules, teamwork, and sportsmanship.</li><li>
Monitors student athletes' academic eligibility to comply with MSHSAA requirements as well as provide appropriate intervention (e.g. counseling, tutoring, etc.) to students identified as needing assistance to maintain their athletic eligibility.</li><li>
Oversees assistant coaches, student managers, volunteers, etc. to provide direction and monitoring activities.</li><li>
Promotes athletic program (e.g. conducts off-season clinics, information on skill-camps, etc.) for the purpose of increasing interest and participation.</li><li>
Responds to inquiries (e.g. students, parents, other school staff, etc.) to provide information, assistance and/or direction.</li><li>
Supervises student athletes during all areas of participation (e.g. competition, travel, before/after practices, etc.) to ensure activities are conducted in an environment with minimal risk of injury to the participants.</li></ul>

SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
